Your thumb moved in a repetitive scrolling motion as you skimmed your Instagram discover page, not really caring much about what you saw on the screen, just doing something to occupy your time and attention. Your boyfriend sat beside you doing the same, scrolling through social media. With a soft sigh, you closed the Instagram app and tossed your device aside before slumping over on Taehyung's shoulder.
He huffed out a soft chortle, discarding his phone in favor of stroking your hair.

"I'm bored." You groaned. "Like bored out of my mind."
"I am too." He sighed.
"You've got a couple free days and I wanna make the most of them. I don't know why we're sitting here on our phones."
"Me either. We should be spending time together."
"What would we do?" You inquired, not having any ideas off the top of your head.
"I have an idea." He grinned. "You're gonna need to change into an old t-shirt first."
"I don't know if I have one."
"That's okay. I'll let you borrow one of mine." He grinned.

Pushing yourself up off the couch, you padded behind Taehyung to his bedroom where he rummaged through his clothes, producing a large white t-shirt for you to wear. You left the room briefly to change into the shirt, wondering what it was your boyfriend had planned. Judging by the fact that you needed an old shirt to wear, it was something messy. As you glanced at your reflection, you couldn't help but giggle adoringly. Taehyung loved to wear clothes that were two, sometimes three, sizes too big, therefore the shirt you currently wore was huge, the short sleeves reaching down past your elbows.
You knew the loose fabric would most likely pose as a nuisance with whatever you were doing, so you grabbed a hair tie and tied the t-shirt up in the back so it wouldn't be so frumpy and baggy.

Upon returning to Taehyung's room, you found that he'd already changed into the appropriate attire for whatever activity he had in mind.
"You ready?" He asked with a small grin, his eyes trailing over your figure, taking in the way his oversized tee fit you.
"All set." You responded, pretending not to the notice the way he stared. "I'm really curious to see what you have planned."
"You're gonna love it. Don't worry."

With that, he guided you through his apartment and down another hallway until you came upon a door with frosted glass, much like the ones to the boys' recording studios. He grabbed the handle and pushed open the door. Inside was an array of art supplies. A few canvases with abstract paintings decorated one of the walls while some were propped against it on the floor. A short easel was set up near the window while various paints and brushes were scattered along the floor. Littering the area around the little easel were scrap papers with brush strokes and dried splatters of paint.
"We're painting?" You mused, a smile spreading across your face.
"Yes we are." Taehyung beamed, beckoning you over to the easel set up on the floor. "You can use this one."
He grabbed an extra that was leaned against the wall and set it up for himself before grabbing a couple empty canvases, placing one on each of the easels.
"Did you paint all these?" You asked, gesturing to the paintings hung up and propped against the wall.
"Yeah." He became a bit bashful as if he was embarrassed to admit it.
"They're incredible. I like that they're a bit abstract."
"Thank you." His cheeks flushed.
"I'm serious. Some of these look like they could be in a modern art exhibit in a museum."
Your flattering words only darkened the pink hue on his cheeks and he murmured another thank you.
"Here's some paintbrushes." He placed a cup of brushes between you both, gathering some of the stray ones scattered on the floor. "Sorry this place is a mess."
"That's alright. I don't mind. It seems like you were in the zone with whatever your last project was."
"I was." He chuckled.

An empty paint palette was set between you both and he started going through a large case of paints.
"Go ahead and choose whichever colors you want."
"Okay." You hummed, scanning over the paints, selecting which ones you thought you might use before squeezing little dollops onto the palette. Grabbing a paintbrush, you dipped the end of it into one of the colors and spread it across the blank canvas.
"I actually have no clue what I'm doing." You chortled.
"Just start painting and see what happens. Let your creativity guide you."
"Okay, Bob Ross." You huffed out a laugh.
"I'll take that as a compliment, thank you."

Taehyung pulled his phone out and tapped on the screen a few times before playing some slow tempo music, setting the mood for your painting session.
Your brush hit the cavas as you began to paint random shapes and lines in different colors, creating a sort of abstract geometric style art piece. It wasn't anything special, just simple and easy. The more you added to it, the more you found yourself liking what you saw.
Glancing over at Taehyung, you checked his progress so far, admiring how amazing it looked. You were constantly astonished at how artistic, creative, and multi-faceted he was. A soft smile of adoration graced your lips before you turned your attention back to your canvas.

The finishing touches were being added to your masterpiece, different colored streaks and splotches of paint stained your hands, but it didn't bother you. Taehyung leaned over a bit to peer at your canvas, watching as you made the last few strokes of color.
"Done." You smiled triumphantly and scooted back to get a better look at your artwork.
"You did such a good job." He gave your hair a and light ruffle while taking in your handiwork.
"You did too. Seriously. I love those little abstract faces you paint."
Taehyung tilted his head to the side slightly before speaking. "Do you want my painting? I'll let you keep it."
You were about to respond before he continued.
"Only if you let me have yours."
"Like an art trade?" You asked.
"Yes."
"Deal."
"Aren't we the cutest?" He grinned giddily. "Painting together and giving our paintings to each other. We're the ultimate artistic couple."
"Whatever you say." You chuckled. "But I admit, it is cute."
"Well, we've got a mess to clean up, but what do you say we make ourselves a snack and snuggle up on the couch when we're done? No phones this time. We can play a video game or watch something together instead."
"That sounds perfect."
