Chapter 28
We arrive at a club and Chase won't stop looking at me, muttering wow, damn or other such things. As we waited in the long line I decided to start a proper conversation. "Are you going to talk to me tonight or just look at me and mumble to yourself?"
He snaps out of his trance and forms a sentence. "But you... Look so different... And... Just wow, I'm so lucky." Sort of. I laugh lightly when I catch a glimpse of an old friend. "Jake?" He turns around and smiles brightly. "Wow, and like that she became a swan... You look drop dead gorgeous!" I smile as I feel my cheeks heat up.
"So I was an ugly duckling before huh?" I smirk. "Of course not! Your always gorgeous but now you look drop dead gorgeous. So, clubbing? Didn't think it was your scene. I'm heading in, want to come?" He looks over my shoulder, to see a glaring Chase. "Bro it's an invitation for you aswell, I'm not stealing your girl back. I'm just helping you two stop wasting time queuing." He just nods and we go with Jake.
We pass through security and Jake whispers. "I'm not stealing you back, but it's much more tempting now so I'd run along incase I lose my self control." He winks and walks away to the bar. I turn to Chase. "What was all that?" I shrug, looking over I say. "He was telling me to be careful and to stick by you at all times." Chase smiles, finally. "Okay, let's go get some drinks."
