Chapter 30
I decided to let my 'twin' brother stay, he told me how he'd got here and how he'd found out I even existed, turns out our parents accidentally left both birth certificates in an old file. Along with the information of the house they'd given me. I told him about Alison, and how I'd bumped into her. So why didn't he contact me sooner?
"I got a visit too. They realised their mistake and came to see me, they asked me for the file and I went on like I didn't know of any file, they searched my entire apartment, no luck. I'd hidden it very well." He explained. "So they left and have now come to me, to see if I have it?" He nodded. "I know it seems a little late but how do I know your telling the truth about being my twin?" He sighed. "Well, have you ever felt an emotion randomly, like your walking along and all if a sudden your happy? or depressed or something?" I nodded. "That's because we feel each others emotions, like now. You're very depressed."
I was surprised but I decided not to show it. I looked at him unimpressed. "Fine! We both have the same birthmark too, like a small star below our right ankle." I jumped as he showed me the mark, I removed my shoe and we compared. Just as he said, it was the same shape and shade. "Okay?" He asks. "Okay."
I get straight to the point. "You can stay, it's pretty clear that your not lying." He nods. Next point. "So, who exactly are they and how many guests am I expecting? I might as well prepare myself for it a little." He takes a deep breath and starts to unload the info.
"Dad, Mum, Alison and Maddie. Dad is a rich bastard. Mum is as plastic as barbie and has had enough surgery to be a living barbie. Alison is a snobby, know-it-all, jobs worth. Maddie is smart too, the prize child as she's the youngest and already smarter than Alison, she's actually okay in terms of being nice. She's not too friendly because she fears losing her place in the perfect family." I nod. My expression is blank but that's just me processing it all.
