Corn Flakes.

I still remember this distinctively, although my parents don't think that's possible. They think that because I saw the photos, I just somehow believe that I witnessed the moment.

I was practically a newborn, perhaps a couple of weeks old. My parents lived in a tiny studio appartment. The bedroom, kitchen and dining room were all in one place. My mum was getting ready to take photos of me in my dad's arms as he sat in an armchair in front of the kitchen that at the same time faced the bed.

I can remember seeing the pack of Kellogg's Corn Flakes on the countertop behind my dad's shoulder. It's the only thing that I can remember from that moment. It has stayed etched into my memory and is by far the earliest thing I can remember.
