The living room lights were off. I was strolling between the spacious kitchen and the living room, as the curious almost-2-year-old that I was.
My dad was lying on the couch with the TV on. He was watching the news in Arabic, probably Al Jazeera news.
I remember thinking that life was well. Life was as it should be. Dad was doing what dads do best.
