Nika pov:
He brought me to his car. It was a black GMC. "I thought about picking you up with my motorcycle but I guess there would have been a problem with your suitcase." he laughed. I smiled. My dad also had a motorcycle but I will most likely have to sell it.
Jesse put my luggage in the car and I sat on the front seat. "How long is it to you place?" I asked. "About 30 minutes. Do you want to see something of Chicago?" He answered and asked. I nodded. My eyes were surely lighting up like a christmas tree. My dad always said that's why he loves my eyes so much. Because they can turn night into day. At the thought of my dad I got sad again and the light must have been disappeared. Jesse looked over from the drivers seat. "Do you miss them?" he whispered. I had no clue how he knew I was thinking of my parents but I nodded. "How did you know?" I asked to change the topic a little. "Because I know that only the loss of a loved person can kill such a light as I saw it in your eyes." I watched him while he answered and I could tell that he knew because he had seen it before. It also happened to him. "But you are here for a new start so let's start the start. There you can see Wrigley field. You know 'The Cubs'?" Jesse said and acted like he was a tourist guide. I laughed. "I know who the Cubs are but it's the same when I ask you if you know the austrian ski team." We both laughed and the sightseeingtour continued.
After something that felt like 5 hours we arrived at a nice flat. It was in a luxurious part of Chicago directly at the Lake. "Wow" I whispered when I got out of the car. "Come on in." Jesse shouted and opened the door. Immediately a loudly barking thing shot out of the door in my direction. I screamed and stumbled back. I fell and hit the car. "Loki stop!" I heard Jesse yelling. The moment he said that the thing stood still in front of me breathing fastly into my face. Now I identified it as a dog. But my heart wasn't slowing down. I knew this feeling too well. My lungs weren't working anymore. I couldn't breathe. Stars started to dance in front of me. I wasn't ready for the 'Aura' but it came and I wasn't able to fight it.
Jesse pov:
I saw her hitting the car and falling down like a bag. Loki continued barking until I yelled a harsh "Stop!" He did what he was told but Nika didn't got uo. She just laid there breathing heavily. I immediately ran to her side. "Nika!? Hey kid say something!" I slapped her cheeks a few times but she just stared at me. I felt her pulse speeding like the engine of a car. "Meine... Meine... Tasche..." she finally coughed. I couldn't understand what she just said because it was german. "Nika what? Tell me what you need!" I yelled at her. She grabbed beside her to reach her backpack and I got it. I quickly turned it upside down. I saw nothing useful but Nika tried to get a sunglass etui. I literally ripped it open. It contained injections. Gladly I knew how to use them and injected the medicine into her arm. As soon it was in she calmed down. I picked her up and brought her to the living room where I set my sister down on the couch. I got her a glass of water which she drank thankfully. "You sure you don't want to see a doctor?" I asked still worried. She nodded. "I have epilepsy since I was 7. And I'm scared of dogs." Like he heard it Loki came super slowly and super friendly towards us. He definitely knew that something was wrong. "So may I introduce him. This is Loki." I said. Nika started shyly to patt his head and smiled. The would to 100% become friends. "You want something to eat?" I asked. "Is it true what they say about the Chicago deep dish pizza?" she replied with a grin. I smirked. "The legend is indeed true. How about I show you your room and while you get settled in I order the pizza?" I suggested. Nika agreed and we did like we said.
Nika pov:
I went back down to the kitchen after I unpacked my stuff. Loki followed me and I had to admit that was really nice and cute. I actually never wanted to tell Jesse about my epilepsy but I guess sooner or later he would have found out anyways.
The pizza already came and Jesse just put it on two plates. I sat down and had big bite of it. "Mmmhhh. That's truly legendary." I said. We laughed and then remained silent for a few minutes just enjoying the meal. "Your english is pretty good. When you had your epilepsy attack you were talking german. It sounds funny." Jesse spoke up. I smiled. He wasn't the first one who recognized that my english was not bad. "Danke, dass du mich heute gerettet hast." I said, knowing that he didn't had a clue what I was talking about but I meant what I said and someday I would translate it to him. I explained "I always had a talent for languages and a faible for tv shows. So when it got annoying that my favorite shows never got renewed in Austria and with the german synchronization I started watching them in english. And yeah. After a few seasons of 'Lucifer' 'The Flash' and 'Supergirl' I was kinda a pro." We laughed. "Can you say something in german?" Jesse asked. I shortly thought about it. "Eigentlich spreche ich nicht hochdeutsch sondern einen Österreichischen Dialekt, den du aber wahrscheinlich noch weniger verstehen würdest." I said. "It sounds so strange to me." he laughed. "Because you can't speak it. But I can teach you if you want." I suggested what suddenly came on my mind. Jesse nodded. "Yes. Let's do this."
