The call

Dex P.O.V

I was so frustrated. I mean, what are the chances that Biana likes me back! I'm just boring Dex Diznee. And anyway, she's still hasn't gotten over Keefe, even though he is going out with Sophie. And well, I think she might of had a bit of a crush on Tam, but now he is going out with Marella, so...Seriously! Who am I kidding!

Since I was lost in my painful toughts, I didin't realise that the elixir I was working on overflowed. The cristal bottle tipped, fell to the floor and crashed. It startled me out of my thoughts, and I jumped when I heard my dad yell at me from the store.

"DEX!" he said. "IS THAT ELIXIR READY!"

I was helping my dad at Slurps and Burps and was making a special elixir to change hair colour.

"Um...almost dad!" I blurted, scrambling to pick up and make a new one.

"Ok..." my dad responded suspiciously. "Get it done soon!"

"I will" I said in a weary tone.

A few minutes later, my elixir was done and my dad satisfied. Just as I was sitting down for the first time in the day, my imparter rang. Can't even have a minute of silence I tought. I still responded though. I saw Sophie's face appear on my screan.

"Hey Soph." I said quietly.

"Dex!" she said happily. "Um...Is everything alright?"

"Yeah, yeah, fine. Sorry. Why did you call?"

"Oh, right" she said hastily. "Well, the Vackers are having a sleepover, and you, me, and Keefe, and Linh, and Tam, and Marella are invited. Just wanted to know if you could and if you wanted to come."

My stomach clenched nervously at the thought of seeing Biana but I still told Sophie I would be there, my cheeks flushing.

"Ok!" she said, giving me a wink. "Be there at six!"

I nodded and clicked off my imparter.

I spent the rest of my evening packing and rehearsing what I would say to Biana in my head. At five to six, I went out to our Leapmaster, shouted "Everglen" and got whisked away by the light.
