Here you were, back at home. Chief Burns had shown you around Griffin Rock and you had met Deputy Barney as well as Mayor Luskey. The mayor seemed to be quite excited about your visit. You couldn't help but notice the curious looks people gave you. Some seemed hostile while others were friendly.

The Chief had helped you install an alarm that beeped loudly when someone called the emergency hotline. He had also given you a comm so you could communicate with the team. Now it was late evening and you had done a bit of shopping for Ray.

You would go shopping for yourself tomorrow. You didn't even have a bed, only a bed frame.

You laid your sleeping bag out on the floor and changed into your pajamas. After brushing your teeth and combing your (H/L) (H/C) hair, you turned off the lights and got into your sleeping bag.

Without have much time to think about the day's events, you drifted off into a deep sleep.

You jumped awake as the alarm in your house rang out. You looked around wildly, the fogginess of sleep disappearing from your brain. You rubbed your eyes groggily and glanced at the clock. 4:30 AM. You groaned and shut off the alarm. Standing up you picked up your comm and spoke into it.

"This is (Y/N), what's the emergency?"

Dani was the one who answered. "A bridge collapsed somewhere North. We're heading your way." She still sounded drowsy.

"Alright." You replied simply. Quickly, you changed into your uniform and combed out your hair. You brushed your teeth and finished just in time to hear sirens approaching. You slipped on your shoes and bolted out the door. The Chief's squad car pulled over and you sprinted over to it, stepping inside. The car took off.

In less than five minutes, you reached a bridge which was definitely destroyed. The middle of the bridge was completely gone, the debris had probably sunk into the river far underneath it. You could see the sharp rocks breaking through the surface of the rushing water. What alarmed you the most was the car tipping over the cracked bridge.

Through the window, you could see the terrified face of a man who was holding what looked to be his daughter in his lap. Tears were streaming down the little girl's cheeks. You stepped out of the squad car and studied the cracks spider-webbing underneath the car. "Fire-bot, pull that car away from the bridge," Kade commanded. The red robot began to move toward the bridge.

"No, wait!" You yelled. Kade glanced at you, seeming irritated. "If you send one of the bots on there, the rest of the bridge will collapse and bring both that bot and the car down." You explained. The fire-bot immediately stopped.

"Well, we- I mean, I, can pull up the car with the copter," Dani suggested. You nodded. "Copter-bot, transform." The orange robot did as it was told. Dani climbed into the helicopter and the rotors began to whir powerfully, blowing your clothes around with the sudden sweep of wind. We need someone to hook up the car," Dani said through the comm-link.

"I'll do it." You said determinedly. Chief Burns and Kade began to protest, but Dani interrupted them.

"Let (Y/N) do it. It's her first day on the job after all..." She said. You took that as your cue and began to walk slowly toward the car. You got close enough to grab the hook and hook it in the bottom of the vehicle.

Waving once to Dani, you signaled her to move. She pulled the car up and slowly moved it backward. You began to step away from the broken bridge, but the movement of the car had jostled the cracked concrete and it was starting to crumble.

You stumbled back and tried to sprint away, but your foot caught on a crack and you tripped, using your arms to stop your fall. The bridge began to collapse even more and you struggled to get up, panic making you clumsy. The bridge cracked.

Debris flew past you and into the rushing river below. It exploded into dust on impact. You held onto the bridge, blood pounding in your ears. "(Y/N), hold on!" You heard Chief Burns yell. The jagged concrete cut into your hands which were holding tightly onto what was left of the bridge.

Your heart was thudding against your chest to the point where your fear was painful. You tried to heave yourself up, but that only cracked the concrete even more. The piece your left hand had been holding onto snapped and landed with a plop in the water below. You were holding on with one hand.

CRACK. You were too terrified to scream. The last string of hope that you had been holding onto was snipped. Your stomach seemed to rush up to your throat as you fell, but instead of being cut into ribbons onto the sharp rocks below, you landed painfully on a warm metal surface.

You gasped and covered your mouth, stopping yourself from vomiting. Your head felt light and you were dizzy with shock. You looked up at your savior and saw the robotic face of the police-bot. A visor covered its optics.

The police-bot was holding onto the hook of the helicopter, he had caught you in the nick of time and Dani began to pull both you and the robot up. Its palm felt strangely warm. Almost like it was alive.

You were laying on your back, and past the dizziness pounding in your skull, you could feel a faint pulse coming from the police-bot's wrist. Huh? Robots had pulses? You glanced at your hands which felt warm and sticky. The broken concrete had cut gashes in your hands and fingers. You sighed. In a small amount of time, you were stepping off of the police-bot's welcoming servo. Chief Burns, Kade, and Graham rushed up to you, all seeming concerned.

"(Y/N)! Are you alright?" Chief Burns steadied you.

"I'm okay, just a little dazed..." You shrugged.

"Are you kidding!? You nearly went splat on a bunch of razor-sharp rocks!" Kade raised his hands to emphasize his words.

"Ugh, don't remind me." You groaned. "I'm fine... just can't get my heart to calm down. And I need to clean these cuts out." You raised your bloodied hands.

 "Ouch." Graham winced.

"Are you absolutely sure you're okay?" Chief Burns asked.

"I'm fine!" You reassured him. "But I think I got a bit too much action on the first day...."
