This story moves a little slowly! But I'm proud of what I have so far! Enjoy.

It was warm outside of house in the mindspace, Patton smiled, thinking of how Thomas must have been feeling at least somewhat happy. That was all that mattered.

He sat outside this particular day, just like he did when Logan and Roman generated. Patton wasn't always with company in the mindspace, he was alone for a while in the start of it all. It was a terrible feeling. Though, luckily it didn't last for long. One day he sensed a presence among him, and before him was the logical side he would get to know as Logan. Then, of course, came along the fanciful side, Roman.

They were happy where they were, honestly. Of course they fought sometimes, but they were usually able to compromise on some sort of common agreement. Everyone was just concerned for Thomas, and that was very obviously a good thing.

Logan and Roman didn't believe Patton when he told them he could feel a new side forming. Especially since the two of them couldn't it feel it. Though, for some reason it didn't really matter to him. All he could really think about was having someone new to care for Thomas, and one and other just as much as he did. He had a feeling about the new side coming in, and for once he couldn't pin point it.

Where he sat outside was in the grass, it was a bright green that day. The sun was vibrant, and there was a soft breeze. He breathed it in, any minute now...

He could only wonder, what was he like? What would he represent? Would he like him?

Suddenly, what he heard was a thud. He jolted up from his spot, searching for where the noise could have even come from.

It didn't take him long, however. In front of him was a boy that obviously looked like him, but...different. He expected a more calming look, just like he had gotten from the others. Instead what faced him was a shy looking side, bangs covering his eyes. His bags were- no, it was make up. Set under his eyes was a black eyeshadow, it was dragged out and carefully blended. He also had unusually pale skin. Much more light than theirs.

He took a step back, fear was clearly written all over him. Patton immediately regretted taking in his looks like that. He clearly saw how upset it got him.

Morality stepped forward, a hand put out. The unknown side flinched.

"Hey kiddo! It's okay, I'm a side too! I just came here to well, you know...welcome you!"

The darker persona didn't speak, just looked down. Patton couldn't help but to worry for the other, had he upset him? "My name's Morality...but you can call me Patton! I'm sorry if I scared you...I just knew you were joining our family today!"

The other looked up, revealing his eyes from under his hair. He seemed as if he flinched at the word, 'family.' Patton smiled, a bit of butterflies setting in his stomach as he saw the younger get more comfortable with his surroundings. He finally reached out, accepting Patton's hand.

 "My...name is Anxiety."

Morality instantly looked up, shock covering his face. He knew he would be different from the others just from his appearance alone, but he had never expected him to be Anxiety. Especially since Thomas was only sixteen years old.

Though, Patton shook his head at the thought. He was sure he had a good heart like the rest of them. He had to if he were a part of Thomas.

It was odd, really. He had only just met him mere moments ago but had a strong urge to do nothing but protect him.

Anxiety cleared his throat, causing Patton to give him his full attention. "Is it nice here? I- uh, I mean are the others...as welcoming as you?"

Patton grinned, squeezing the other's hand in a comforting manner. For some reason, Anxiety didn't feel nervous at the touch.

"You'll love them! There's only two others so...it's really not hard to fit in! I was the first here so I've known them...well all their lives! Logan can be a bit too serious at times, but when you finally open to him he's really fun and cute!"

Anxiety couldn't help but to smirk at the comment, "You sure do seem to like him."

Patton blushed, looking to the ground they were walking on. "I...um...I do."

Although the anxious trait wanted to make a comment, he smiled instead. He for some reason, felt joy in the fact that he had someone to feel that way about. He quickly changed the subject, not wanting to embarrass the other further. "You said there were two others...that means one more, right?"

Morality's eyes popped, realization hitting him. "Oh yeah! I can't forget about our dearest Princey! He can be a little...hard headed at times! But, I know his best interest is at heart! I actually have a feeling you guys will get along very well!"

Anxiety rolled his eyes, ignoring the comment completely. But, a part of it still stuck with him. Does he really think they'll get along? Sure Patton had already made a well enough impression on him, he felt safe around what seemed to be a very emotional side. Though, having the others would be nice too.

Before he could ask anymore questions, they had reached the living space of the mind. It was big, and Anxiety could feel the nerves bundling up within him. Maybe he should just... run.

But, despite his critical thinking, all he could think about was the trait in front of him. He was so...kind, and welcoming. It made him at, well, some sort of hypnotic ease. If the others were even a bit like Morality, he'd feel safe here.

"Are you ready to meet the other two, kiddo!"

For the second time in Anxiety's formed existence, he smiled a genuine smile full of hope. What could go wrong?

He took a deep breath, "Yeah. Sure. Okay."
