The night looms over them like a shadow of a beast and Missi stayed curled up asleep on the settee, breathing softly through her parted lips.
She dreams of endless darkness with glimmering diamonds above her head. She was somewhere she can't recognize. A place that somehow she found herself lost. It was full of uncertainty there, full of shadows that play with one's mind. Terrifying was the perfect word for the place and Missi was wandering alone like a lone deer who lost its herd. All in all, she's vulnerable.
A twig snapped nearby and immediately, without even thinking, she ran.
Missi runs across the gnarly forest from something that might catch her. She remembers what's going on now. Something was after her. Something particularly with tall sinewy body covered in black from head to feet, ready to snap her neck like a glow stick, and the only thing that was discernible was the glowing red eyes flashing in the dark that completely states his presence.
She gasped as she ran hurriedly, tears prickling her eyes from the mounting terror she was feeling. He was near. The dropping temperature against her skin, the telltale sign. Missi bats every pointy branch that got in her way. Her panicking making her stumble on almost every stone and root.
She can feel him.
She can feel him following her with ease. Slicing across the forest like how knives cut through butter and the thought itself made Missi whimper in fear. The way his eyes burn on her back made shiver to slide unpleasantly down her spine.
It's cold and cruel, tantamount to death itself.
Missi yelped when a thick branch caught her dress. She tugged at it to no avail. Her weary body was weak from exerting too much effort in escaping and now, for certain, she was doomed.
A moving shadow caught her attention making her whirl around.
She stilled.
Breathing heavily through her mouth as she listens for any sound.
Nothing.
It was silent. Too silent for her comfort.
Swallowing, Missi turned back to her skirt.
However, before she could tug herself free from the branch, a large hand covered her forearm, pulling her forcefully away.
She cried in alarm, greeted by the sight of glowing red eyes close to her own and she sees, much to her horror, a smile breaking across his face. He shows fangs. Bloodied fangs as if he just sucked the life out of a creature before going after her.
And now, she can't help but think that she's the next on his list.
"Hello." He cooed. A voice, low and meant to soothe but only makes Missi shaking in his clutch, paralyzed out of fear.
Before Missi knew it, his teeth sunk into her skin where her neck met her shoulder. Like a needle to its cushion, his fangs slipped into her flesh and started to eat her life away. Missi screamed into the night. Unheard.
He was like the Devil, Missi thought as she feels her eyelids go heavy. Her hands gently sliding from their grip on the other's wrist.
Sipping on her blood like wine while her screams, a lullaby to his ears.

Missi gasped awake.
She sat up. Her breathing ragged and deep as her heart was beating too fast in her chest.
'What the hell...' She thought, holding her forehead as if to contain what nightmares she just had from becoming true. Missi blinked away the tears from her eyes and scanned the area. She just realized she was shaking too much.
