Chapter Five

Seokjin's pov

I look at the small figure on the ground fondly as Jungkook runs off. Hoseok walks up beside me.

"I think he's malnourished. He also looks pretty beat up," he says. I look at Hoseok, then at Namjoon, then back at the boy.

I hear a loud thump and the three of us all look in the direction of the sound. I make eye contact with Namjoon as he nods towards the unconscious boy on the ground.

I rush over to him and he stirs a bit. I stay beside him protectively as Namjoon and Hoseok stand in front of both the boy and I.

Hoseok and Namjoon back up a step as we all hear another thump. The boy next to me stirs a bit again. I look down at him and his eyes open slightly, fear evident in them.

He groans, "where am I? Who are you?" His eyes dart around rapidly.

"Don't worry, we won't hurt you. We're trying to help," I reply.

Hoseok looks back at the boy, relieved, for a split second before he's tackled to the ground, his side getting most of the impact.

"Hoseok!" I yell. The boy, now fully awake, looks frightened. "Look, I'm going to need you to tell me your name," I plead.

He nods quickly, looking back at Hoseok worriedly. "P-park Jimin," he makes eye contact with me as I nod. His eyes dart back to Hoseok.

Namjoon runs towards Hoseok and tries to pull the figure off him. The person turns back and punches Namjoon. Namjoon's eyes flash red and his fangs elongate. He drags the figure off Hoseok and slams him against the wall.

The man manages to break out of Namjoon's hold and runs towards Jimin and I. Jimin digs his nails into my shoulders.

Namjoon jumps on the man and pins him down. The stranger grunts as he struggles against Namjoon, but fails. Namjoon is too strong.

Namjoon pulls the man into a standing position and pins him against the wall once again, punching his stomach.

Jimin flinches and I wrap my arms around him protectively. He lays his head against my shoulder and cries softly.

"It'll be okay. I promise," I soothe him.

"I never got your name," he sobs quietly.

"Kim Seokjin," I reply.

Suddenly, a different figure runs at full force at the one that attacked Hoseok.

"Jungkook!" Hoseok yells. He gets up and rushes, more like limping than anything else, towards Jungkook and Namjoon to help. The three of them manage to finally get rid of the other guy.

Hoseok collapses onto the ground but manages to get back up and lean against the wall for support.

Jungkook then spots Jimin and walks towards us. Jimin holds onto me tighter as he sees Jungkook approaching us.

"He won't hurt you. Actually, Jungkook would do the exact opposite," I say making eye contact with Jimin.

Jimin seems to trust me as he looks at Jungkook. Jungkook slowly comes closer, trying not to scare the small boy. Jimin hesitantly lets go of me and tries to stand, but falls due to his leg being injured.

Jungkook catches Jimin before he hits the ground.

"We need to get him to our place before he passes out again," Namjoon says.

Hoseok, still leaning against the wall, nods in agreement.
