V4Flower's Point of View

I ended up staying in the R.O.C. center for the rest of the day. After a while I saw the strange man leave my sister's room, so I snuck in with Yukari. We talked a while until Yukari left. My sister didn't want to be alone, so I stayed in her room with her. I'm sure what time it was, but I ended up falling asleep on the floor.

I woke in the middle of the night due to some strange noises coming from downstairs. I'd never been to the very bottom floor of the building, so I was a bit nervous. I walked down the hall trying to find signs of where the stairs were, but I found nothing. It was very strange. Eventually, I found a small door in a corner at the very end of the hall. The entire door had been painted the exact same color as the wall. I began to freak out a little.

The door had a key hole, so I was afraid it'd be locked. Luckily it wasn't, but for some reason that scared me even more. I opened the heavy door very slowly. The stairs were spiraled, so I couldn't quite see where they led to. I walked slowly down the stairs, and the noises got louder. My heart began racing as I began to imagine what the sounds might be.

Once I reached the bottom there was no light fixture. The only light source was coming from a room down a dark hall. I slowly crept down the hall so that anyone who might be there wouldn't see me. As I crept closer I heard voices. Then yelling. I was so terrified, but I kept walking down the hall. I had to find out what was going on.

I finally reached the door at the end of the hall. I peeked my head in the door and what I saw terrified me. There were a ton of lab-coated people standing around a bunch of controls staring into a separate glass room in front of them. "Turn her pain receptors on" one of them said. A button was pushed and I heard an awful scream. There in the glass room was Mayu, strapped to the wall by her limbs. They shocked her and she screamed. She look so horrified and exhausted. My stomach began to feel extremely uneasy.

"Turn them off" a voice said again. They shocked Mayu again, but she didn't scream. I gasped. That's why she can't feel pain. She just lay there miserable. The people began writing things down. Tears began to fill my eyes.

"What in the world are you doing? Turn them on again and raise the intensity. I need to see if this really works! " My heart sank. That voice. There in the corner was the strange man. His was down and reached his shoulder blades. He looked like he hadn't slept in days. They turned switch on again and this time you could actually see the electricity in bolts. Mayu struggled and shook, trying to break free of the restraints. It was no use.

I looked at the people at the controls. Who were they? I'd never seen them before, so I know they didn't work at the R.O.C. But where did they come from? I guess one of them sensed my presence, because a few of them glared at me. I put my hands over my mouth to keep myself from gasping. I ran back down the hall and up the stairs and finally to my sisters room.

I lay back down on the floor trying to calm myself. I had so many questions. Who were those people? Is this why Mayu is always so delirious and mean? Does Galaco know? I was so overwhelmed with emotion I began to cry. Needless to say, I didn't much sleep the rest of the night.
