My name is Rowen Sakamaki and I'm the daughter of Subaru Sakamaki. I look a little like my dad, but I was told I looked like my mom as well. I had long, blondish white hair, that hung a bit lower than my sholders. It was a mixture between strait and wavy, but I kept it wavy most of the time. It was also soft, because my mom used to have soft hair. Just like my dad, I had the bright red eyes, that haunt you when you staired into them. I was paler than my dad because I haven't been taking blood like I was supposed to, which worried my dad. It was the death of my mom, and Dad's recent girlfriend, that I wasn't taking enough blood. Ever since my mom died, my dad's been more frustrated than before, even towards his uncle. Dad and his Uncle Richter don't get along at all. They always fought with each other, especially at supper time. It usually ended with my grandmother breaking them up, after I walked out of the house. I don't know what she did, but it wasn't that pleasant, seeing how dad walks into our room.
Our house wasn't that big to begin with, so I had to share the room with my dad. It was just a normal sized room, with a twin coffin and a little cot, right next to it. I didn't have a coffin, seeing that our room didn't have the space for it. I would've had my own room, but Dad doesn't trust his Uncle enough to let me be by myself. He never let me alone, especally at night, seeing how his Uncle Richter stayed with us and my grandmother. Because of his uncle, dad had been very overprotective of me, and he barely left my side at the house. Ever since my mom died, dad's been very clingy towards me, and was always getting into my personal space. I didn't get why him and Uncle Richter didn't get along anymore, but I was told by my grandmother, never to ask him. It was always a mystery to me, and I was sick of it. I was sick of all the secrets in this house.
The fighting between my dad and his uncle started when I was born. I remember being in my dad's arms, drinking formula out of a bottle. I lied in dad's arms, with one of his arms prompting my head up, as he rocked back and forth, in his rocking chair. "Your such a pretty girl" he said, in a little playful tone of voice, with a smile on his face. I looked up at him with my bright red eyes, stairing at him, as I drank my formula. I stopped drinking, as I started to cry a aggravated cry. Dad placed the bottle on the table next to his chair in the living room, as he draped a rag over his shoulder. After he did that, he promped me onto the rag, as he started patting my back. It took me a while, but then I finally let one out, and it was back to the bottle. We did this until the bottle was completley empty. When the bottle was completley empty, Dad placed me in my crib with a stuffed bat right next to me, then went to clean up the mess we made. I ended up rolling on my side, and fell asleep for a nap.
It's been fifteen years now, and I still share a room with my dad. I was finishing up packing my first box of things to move, when he came into the room. "Rowen, it's time to do the dishes" he said, as he walked out of the room, and back into the kitchen. I sighed, as I stopped packing and left the room to help with our chours. Dad and I have always helped with the dishes around the house. It was like our tribute to the family and he wasn't made to do it either. He always said, we helped dirty them, so we had to help clean them. I walked into the kitchen and went into the small closet by the front door. I opened them up to see shelves, with hand towels on one, and rags on the other. On the last one was a box of heavy duty trash bags, a box of cleanx and a bin of cleaning supplies. Under the shelves was the trash can, a aluminum can with a lid, that you had to press a lever with your foot to open it. I sighed as I grabbed a plain white towel, that was a little on the heavy side. I took my time to feel it, as I heard Uncle Richter talking to Grammy in the livingroom. I focused on what they were saying and doing. They were yelling to each other, looking like they were fighting about something. Uncle Richter huffed as he turned to look in my way. He quickly walked to the door as he slammed them shut, then went back to argue. I was interupted when Dad broke the silence. "Rowen, please come dry and put them away" dad said, which broke me out of my gase. "Oh, sorry Dad" I said, as I walked back to the sink, and started to help.
Dad and I did the dishes in silence, as we heard the bickering in the living room. The both of us didn't say a word, we just continued to do our chores in silence. I put a plate back in the cabinent as I went to grab another one. Dad huffed in frustiration as he spoke, grabbing my attention. "I hope this new home is more friendly" he said, as he started picking up his speed. A crash came into the drained side of the sink, followed by a shatter. "Ouch" Dad said, as he pulled back his hand. I looked at him in silence, as he started to suck the blood, dripping from his finger. "Please don't go into the sink, and be careful until I get that dish cleaned up" Dad broke the silence with. I nodded as I spoke. "Alright, thanks for the heads up" I said, as I put another plate back into the cupboard. The yelling became louder, which got dad's attitude negative. "I'll be right back, just continue what your doing, and don't touch the plate in the sink" Dad said as he walked out into the room with the yelling.
I sat there, continuing on catching up to him as I heard his yell. "WILL YOU BOTH TAKE IT OUTSIDE? YOUR GRANDAUGHTER IS IN THE OTHER ROOM!" Dad's voice boomed through the walls, as a bang came from the next room. I sat there knowing that they pushed my dad's buttons too much. I heard muffled voices from Uncle Ritchard which got more into a yell. "DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO WITH MY CHID! SHE'S MY KID, AND THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE BOTH OF YOU!" came dad's reply. I sat there listening to the conversation. "Yep, dad's buttions have been pushed a little to much" I thought to myself, as I put the last of the dishes away. Dad huffed as he came back into the room. He walked back to the sink as he looked at me. "Rowen, why don't you go do your homework, and keep the door closed. I got to deal with the fighting" Dad said, as I nodded then ventured into our room. I grrabbed my laptop as I started to write the paper that was due a week from today. I focused on it in silence, as I continued typing and adding details to it. I had the door shut so I couldn't hear the shouting.
A few minutes later, Dad came in and plopped onto his bed, as he huffed. "I can't wait until we move into that house tomorrow" he said, with another deep sigh. I stopped my typing as I looked at him in silence. I had nothing to say, nothing came to my mind either. I went back to my homework, as dad got up and started packing again. Our room was mostly boxed up, seeing how we were moving into the new house tomorrow night. The only sounds that entured the room was my dad packing, and the typeing on the computer. I decited to take a break, as I watched him. He noticed but didn't say anything about it. He continued to pack up boxes, and place them where we had our stack of complete boxes. I looked at the door, as I sighed. "Do you want me to help?" I asked, figuring that half of the stuff was mine. Dad shook his head, as he continued.
I took a break to watch him, as I thought of this new house we were moving into. I sighed as I spoke up. "Dad, are you excited to go into this new house?" Dad sighed, as he let out a little aditude. "Not really, but it's going to be better than here" he said, as he put another complete box in the closet. I didn't bother asking him anything else, just went back to my work in silence. Dad huffed as he spoke up. "Rowen, lisen to what I'm about to tell you" he said, as he grabbed my attention. I placed my laptop by me on the bed, as he spoke. "There's going to be five other men living with us, I want you to be good and respectful to them. And if they put a hand on you or anything, you come strait to me. Your only aloud to listen to me, and no one else. Do you understand?" he asked, as he looked my way. I nodded as I spoke quietly. "Yes Dad, I understand." Dad sighed as he came up to me, and gave me a hug. He squeezed my sides for a moment, as he lifted up and kissed the top of my head. "I hope this new house is going to be better for you. Hope these boys don't do what Uncle does to you" he said, sounding like was crying. Finally he lifted up off me, and went back to packing, as I went back to my homework. Shortly after, we both lied down and went to sleep, preparing for the big move in the morning.
