I woke up quite early, because I wanted to get one box done before breakfast. I took a stretch as I sat up in bed, stretching my arm's out wide, feeling my mussles pull within them. I ended the stretch with a turn, as I put my arms down, and looked around the room. I glanced over at my dad's bed, seeing him sound asleep, curled up with his pillow. His blanekts were hanging off the bed, pretty much completley off. He lied on his stomach as he snored a bit. He looked like he was in a dead sleep, but I didn't know that for sure. I silently got out of bed, as I walked to my dresser and started to pull out fresh clothes. "Maybe the bathroom's free for me to change, then I'll be back" I said, as I shut the draw closed, then slowley walked out of the room. I managed to get by the door, as dad shifted in his bed, and spoke. "Who's there?" he asked in a grumpy but silent tone. "It's just me dad. Did I wake you?" I responded, hopeing that he wasn't grumpy. Dad looked up as he looked out the window. The sky was dark with the moonlight trying to peek through the curtains, shining through everything. The trees brushed shadows through the glow on the carpeting of our room, framed by the shadow of the window. I heard shifting, as I looked over, seeing dad cuddle back in bed as he turned over to face the wall. "I'm going to change in the bathroom" I said as I went to the door. Dad moaned his ok, then fell back asleep.
I walked to the bathroom as I bumped into Uncle Laito. He turned around with an angry look, as it softened a bit. "Good morning, little girl" he said in a happy tone of voice. I cracked a smile, as I spoke back. "Morning Uncle Laito. Excuse me, I need to go to the bathroom" I said, as I walked around him. He turned to head towards our room which got me a little confused. "Your dad up, Rowen?" he asked, as he stopped in his spot. He didn't turn to me, but he stopped for an answer. "No, he got up for about a minute to see who was up, then he went back to sleep. He's a little tired this morning" I said, as I continued walking away. "Alright, did you leave him a note or somethng to tell him where your going?" he asked, as I felt his eyes on me. At that point, I knew he was watching me slowley. I turned around to face him, as I nodded again. "Yep, he knows. I told him when he got up for that moment. He's fine with it." Uncle Laito smiled as he turned to walk away. "Alright then. Hurry before Uncle Shu jumps in before you. He takes a while" he said, as his voice became faint as he drifted out of the hall. I sighed as I walked to the door of the bathroom, and knocked. I waited a bit as I opened the door and took my shower.
A hour past when I finally entered the bedroom again. Dad was still asleep in his bed, but he kept shifting, which I thought he was finally wakeing up. I silently went to the bed, and put my dirty clothes in the hamper. I went into the closet to fine my sweatshirt, which was hanging on my side of the rack. I ended up picking out a black sweatshirt with dark red lines, that looked like netting. I threw that on as I headed out of the room, seeing my dad sitting up and rubbing his eyes. "We stayed up too late unpacking" he said, with a yawn and a big stretch. I cracked a smile, as I started to organize the dirty clothes from the clean ones. I put my dirty pajama shirt in the hamper, as I folded up my bottoms and threw them into the drawer again. Dad lifted from his bed, as he got up, and went to his birror. "Has breakfast been served yet?" he asked, as he got his clothes. I shook my head, not knowing myself. "I dunno. Was just on my way to check" I responded as I grabbed the brush, and started brushing my hair. Dad huffed, which made me turn around. "Something wrong?" I asked, as he shook his head. "No, just got to go to the store for something. Would you want to go after breakfast?" he asked, as he turned towards me. I nodded as I put my brush back, then waited for him to finish.
I went to turn as I saw dad standing directly in front of me. Before I could speak, he pulled me into a hug, and gave me a tight squeeze. I sat there for a few moments, then broke the silence. "Dad, we're going to be late" I said, as dad pushed me aside, to look at me. He cracked a smile as he spoke. "Oh yeah. Forgot" he said, as he waved me on, while he stepped aside. I walked out into the hallway as we went to the dining room. Whrn we got there, everyone was starting to eat. Uncle Reiji looked at both Dad and I, with a stern look on his face. "You two are both late. I hope you have a good explanation for this?" he said, in a stern tone of voice. I notice Dad clenching his fist, as he started to get mad. Before he could speak, I cut in front of him. "Sorry Uncle Reiji. We slept in too late, please excuse us" I said, as I looked at Dad again. I seen him lifting up as he unclenched his fists. Uncle Reiji looked at us, then closed his eyes. "Well, seeing that you appoligised, I guess I'll let it pass this time" he said, as he looked back at me. I looked at Dad as we both took our seats and started to eat. Breakfast was not as good as I thought. It was plain oatmeal, with sometype of protein shake to drink. It wasn't good to taste, but at least it was something different. I picked up my spook as I took a bite. I couldn't really describe the taste, but I knew I didn't like it. But I still ate it, knowing that Uncle Reiji would problably make it a big deal. Spoonfull by spoonful, I slowly ate the bowl as I sipped on the shake. The shake wasn't bad, it was actually better than the oatmeal. Dad was giving me this look that I could go fix something else, but I didn't want to be rude. I ended up taking it bite by bite until it was completely empty, which shocked Dad. Once we were all done eating, we sat in our spots, just like last night. Everyone was looking at Uncle Reiji, waiting for his cue to tell us to leave. He sat there with his eyes closed in silence. Finally, he opened his eyes as he spoke. "That'll be all for this meal" Uncle Reiji said, as everyone started to leave. I looked at dad as we started to get up. I turned to Uncle Reiji as I spoke. "Thank you for the meal Uncle Reiji" I said, as I started to follow dad back to our room. I turned back around to find Uncle Reiji stairing at me. "I'm sorry, something wrong?" I asked, feeling like he was going to dissplin me. Uncle Reigi closed his eyes again, as he spoke. "Thank you for your mannors at the table. Your father taught you well" he said as he looked up at me. "Um, your welcome" I said, feeling kinda confused.
I looked at my dad as he smiled, then looked back. "Reiji, did you have anything that we needed to do today?" he asked Uncle Reiji. Uncle Reiji shook his head, as he opened his eyes, and replied. "Not that I can think of. If you had something that you need to do, your able to do it." Dad nodded as he spoke again. "So, you wouldn't mind if I took my daughter out in town today?" "I believe that would be fine. Would you be able to pick me up a box of tea at the store when your out?" Uncle Reiji asked, as he stood up. He walked towards us, as he pulled out a little piece of paper, folded up from his pocket. He handed it to dad, as he took it, and looked at it. A few moments later he folded it back up. "No, I can pick some up for you. No problem" Dad said, as Uncle Reiji cracked a smile. "I greatly appreciate it. Please, bring it up to my lab when you return" he said, as he walked out of the room. "No problem" Dad said, as Uncle Reiji left the room. I looked at dad, as he nodded. "Ready" he said, as he put the pice of paper in his pocket. I nodded as we both left the house.
