The ride was long and boring, as we drove deeper into the woods.  The tall green trees drapped over the road, shading the moonlight off the velical. The road was a dark dirt road, as it eventully turned to gravel and tires started to become smoother.  The sky was a dark blue, with a white cresent moon in the middle.  There was no stars, and no clouds in the sky.  Nothing, just the moon, glowing down on the earth below.  I looked from the sky down below it, seeing a big lake right next to it, with the light from the sky, shining in the middle of it.  The moonlight glowed in the water, making it sparkly and nice.  I always liked the night time by the lake back at home.  The only difference about home and this, was the lake at home was in the middle of the park.  It was just a little walking park, with benches that you could sit at.  There was no playgrounds or anything for kids, but I still loved it for the view.  When I was younger, my dad would pack something for lunch, and bring me there.  We used to lay on a blanket and trhy to imagine shapes in the clouds.  My dad would joke a lot while we were their, which made it fun.  Hopefully, Dad and I could continue doing things like that at this new home.  Thinking of home made me think of this new house that we were moving into.  What are the people like? And are they nice?

I sighed, as I leaned back in my seat and look up ahead, seeing a gate in the distance.  It was too far for me to describe, but I could tell that it was a gate of some sort.  A black, metal gate to be specific, with a giant tan bulding behind it.  I couldn't tell what was behind it, everything was blurry to see. I heard dad huff, which caught my attention.  "Something wrong Dad?" I asked him, as I turned my head towards him.  Dad cleared his voice as he looked up, studying me with his beating red eyes.  He looked mad for a second, but I didn't know who he was mad towards.  My guess was Uncle Ritchard, seeing how this morning went for the both of them.  He closed his eyes as he looked down, and spoke.  "Rowen, I want to talk to you before we go into this house" he said, breaking the silence.  I nodded even though he was still looking down at the floor.  "Alright, you got my attention" I said, as I tuned more into the conversation.  Dad cleared his voice as he looked up again.  "We're living in someone else's house.  And even though it will be our's as well, you still need to be respectful to them.  Their nice enough to give us a room in their place, and we're lucky because of that" he said, to start things off.  I nodded as I spoke.  "Yes dad.  I'll be on my best behavior" I said, to clarify my answer.  Dad smiled as he continued.  "I know you will. Oh and one last thing" he said, as the velical stopped, for the black gate to open.  It creeked open as the car continued.  Dad looked up as he staired into my eyes, getting even more serious.  "These people are not, and I repeat, NOT to lay a hand on you whatsoever.  If that happens, come strait to me imedantly, and do exactly as I say.  Am I clear?" I nodded as I spoke.  "Yes dad" I said in a quiet, scared voice.  Dad got really mean when it came towards me, and sometimes it's not safe to be around.

I looked up ahead as the car wrapped itself around the fountain in the middle.  I was so focused that I didn't hear my dad move.  Arms wrapped around me, as he pulled me into a tight hug.  His head was placed on top of mine, as the door opened up, letting us out of the car.  I didn't do anything, for the fact that dad was squeezing my guts out.  He sighed as he spoke. "Their not going to harm my little girl" he said, with anger in his voice.  I sat there in thought of what he was going to do to these people.  What was he going to say to them? Is he going to slam the wall in frustration like he always do?  Finally, dad let go of me, as he smiled.  "Alright, you ready for this?" he asked, as he lent out my hand.  I nodded as I grabbed it, then we left the car.  We went in the back to help unload our stuff, so we could bring it in the house.  Some of the boxes weren't that heavy, so it was easy to move.  After that, I found myself standing in front of the gate, right next to dad.  I looked up at him, while the fear started to grow within me.  Dad's face had the look, the one he gave me when everything was ok.  It was a mixture of worry and happiness. He looked up at the gate, as he moved it, and we started up the walkway.
