Shattered

Chapter Five

"I- I don't think I heard you right." Hyde unfolded his arms and seemed a bit in shock after Mira had made her offer.

*"No. No. NO! Tell that witch we won't make that deal. Kill her right now."* Chase was practically yelling in Hyde's ear. Hyde pushed himself off the wall and approached Mira as she still sat on the edge of the cot with a smirk on her face.

"Well boys, do we have a deal?" She extended her hand as much as she could, with the chains making it a bit hard for her to do anything with her arms. Hyde looked down at her hand before looking back into her eyes.

"No deal. No get out." Hyde walked past her to pick up his back back looking for the medicine their grandfather gave them.

"W-what? Di you not hear me?!" Mira sprang from the bed in rage. "I'm offering you someone who gave you true love. A purpose in life."

"No, you're offering me more hell in my life. Or did you forget about what you're little 'doll' did to me and Chase?" Hyde kept rummaging through the bag until he came across the small little pill bottle.

Mira gritted her teeth as her hands began to glow and dark hue of purple that surrounded Chase's body and sent in flying towards the wall.

"Then let me make myself clearer." She turned the boys to face her. "Bring me my crown or I will destroy everything you love dear; starting with that meddlesome grandfather of yours." Hyde's eyes widened.

"You wou-"

"Try me. The mirror realm is nothing but misery and if it hadn't been for the two of you messing everything up I wouldn't be here." She dropped the boys as the door's knob began to turn and her time had ran out. She turned into a mist before disappearing.

"Bring me my crown....or elssse."

Hyde brushed himself off as he rushed over to the wall to turn the lights off, letting the afternoon sun pour into the room from the window. He waited behind the door for the being to walk in. The door opened and in stepped a girl with redish brown hair. Hyde slammed the door shut and pinned her to the wall.

"Oh, you are awake." She adjusted her glasses back onto her face as a small blush graced her face with how close Hyde was to her face; his right arm blocking her only way of escape.

"What do you want?" Hyde's tone was more annoyed than the angry one he had ten minutes ago.

"Well I wanted to see if you were okay. I mean you've been asleep for 3 hours. Wouldn't want you missing out on lunch so I brought you a drink and a power bar." Alice reached into her bag and Hyde grabbed it. "Ummm wow, on edge are we?" She raised her brow at him as he met her eyes.


"Sorry." He let go of her arms and she sighed in relief as she pulled out the items and handed them to Hyde. She smiled as he gave a fake smile as a thanks and walked over to his cot.

"Sorry about your first day being, well a bit of a flop."

"That's putting it mildly." Hyde opened the drink and took his pills as Alice walked over to the windows by his cot and leaned against them.

"I heard about your family situation. That...has to be pretty rough dealing with." Hyde grew quiet and just glared at her. "Ummm, not that it's any of my business. It's a pretty small community, word gets around town fast."


"Well maybe all of you should mind your damn business. Now get out." Hyde put the power bar and pill bottle back in his bag before lying back down on the cot.


"Man are you a bit of a jerk." Alice said as she pushed herself off the windows and headed out of the nurse's office. She stopped and turned back to the boys. "You know, girls can see through that whole loner facade. It's not gonna get you very far, besides you might benefit a bit with a friend watching your back." She walked out of the office shutting the door behind her.


Hyde just stared at the door after she left as the switch began to take affect and he was back to being in Chase's head. Chase sighed as he felt control again and closed his eyes.

"Bring me my crown.....NOW." Chase jolted from the bed after hearing Mira's message in his ear again.

"Looks like we've got our work cut out for us."
