"Josh wake up."
I open one eye and then the other. Bright light streams through the window and I have to shield my eyes with my hand.
"Josh, it's your first day of Junior year, you need to get up."
"GIve me a minute," I instructed my brother.
"Mom's waiting downstairs, we have to take her cliche first day pictures."
"Brody, I'll be down in a minute."
His brown eyes look at me in frustration and he runs a hand through his surfer blonde that unfortunately was hereditary in our family.
"Whatever," he growls as he exits my room.
Once he's gone I sit myself up, staring across room towards the closet that sits on the far wall. My blue tinted walls match my glum mood about having to go back to school.
"JOSH!"
I jump off my bed and pull on a gray button down, sliding on a pair of dark jeans. I pull on my black converse and spray some cologne on. Then I walk into the bathroom and place a glob of hair gel on my hands, carefully styling my hair.
Once I'm done I rub the sleep from my eyes and storm down the stairs, sliding my black backpack on my shoulder.
"Ah there's my boy," my mother exclaims sternly, adjusting the pearls adorning her snow white skin.
Despite living in sunny California, my mother spent most of her time in the office, working away.
"Hello mother," I return, placing a kiss on her cheek.
I took my place next to Brody as she snapped a quick picture and turned around, heels clicking loudly on the white tiles.
"Have a good first day boys," her blonde hair disappears into the kitchen as Brody and I make our way to the door.
"Love you," we call back as the door clicks shut behind us.
I guess you could say our mother was a little cold.
"Can I drive?" I ask Brody as we make our way to the silver Mercedes sitting in our drive way.
"No way little bro."
I roll my eyes as he unlocks the door.
"You know, just because you're a year older doesn't mean you always get to drive."
He just scoff as he tosses his blue backpack into the back seat. I settle myself into the comfy, leather seat and pull out my phone.
Hey babe, ready for today? Can't wait to see you!
Kisses, Bridget :*
I lock my phone instantly and slide it back in my backpack.
Bridget Porter, my girlfriend since freshman year. Popular, smoking hot, head of the cheerleading squad, and kind of a ditz.
"Bridg?" Brody asks as he starts to pull out of the drive way. I nod and he sighs.
He's been victim to her, um, interesting personality before.
I've been debating breaking up with her for sometime now, but my dad and her dad work together, and well, that wouldn't be good.

We cruise down the streets in silence. I plug my headphones into my phone and turn up the volume.
I close my eyes and wonder what awaits me at school. All my soccer buddies flocking around me, girls primping themselves as I walk by, and the worst, Bridget.
She would more than likely be in her black and gold cheerleading uniform, her auburn hair in a high ponytail, a pound of makeup caked on her face. She would probably follow me around all day, hanging on me, glaring at all the girls who look at me. Not to mention her gossiping.
I really hate to admit this, but I hate my girlfriend.
We round the corner of the parking lot, and slide easily into our self reserved parking place.
Quickly scurrying out of the car, I put my school attitude on and walk through the doors.
Time for another year of complete and utter hell.
