Harper
Beep! Beep! Beep!
My eyes shoot open as I hear the sound of my annoying alarm clock go off. I groan as I reach over to turn it off. As I was about to walk over to my wardrobe and put on my clothes, there is a knock at my door.
"Who is it?", I ask.
"It's Charles. Your mother said to hurry up, breakfast is ready.", the person replies.
"Okay, I'll be down in a few. I just need to get ready."
With that I hear him walk away from the door and walk down the hall. Oh! I forgot to mention. Charles is my butler. Well technically he is my family's butler. My father is the CEO of Disney Channel. Which means he is a multi millionaire. And I know what you're thinking, you probably think I'm a stuck up little rich girl who only cares about looks and popularity. But I am the complete opposite. I want to avoid all of that. By that I mean the popularity, the fake friends, and most of all the people who want to use me just because of my family's wealth. To avoid this I wear a disguise to school. Yes a disguise. It consists of a red wig and fake glasses plus I wear very ugly clothing. It makes me look like a complete freak. Of course I get bullied because of this but I rather have that happen then fake friends and back stabbers.
"Harper! Hurry up and get ready! We're going to be late to school!", I hear my brother, Collin, call from down the hall.
"Alright!", I call back, hoping he would hear me.
I walk over to my vanity. I put on my wig and try to hide as much of my brown hair as possible. Then I walk over to my closet and put on my horrid clothing, grab my even uglier shoes, grab my "glasses", and sprint downstairs.
"Morning mom!", I say as I step foot into the kitchen, taking a seat at the small table set up in the kitchen.
"Morning Harper. Hurry and eat up or else you'll be late."
She sets my plate down at the table where I was now sitting.
"You know sweetie, I still don't know why you wear this disguise.", mom says, emphasizing the word disguise.
"You know why mom. It's to protect our family."
"Your father and I can protect this family on our own. As much as we appreciate your help, we don't need it. And we certainly don't need you wearing this every time you go to school."
"Mom we've been over this plenty of times. Dad has no problem with it. And I am also doing this for myself not just our family."
She lets out a defeated sigh and walks back to the kitchen. When I finish my breakfast I grab my stuff from the family room and walk out to the car where Charles and Collin were waiting.
"Took you long enough!", Collin says as I slide into the car.
"Oh shut up."
**********
After we dropped off Collin, Charles pulls up to a curb a block away from my school. I always tell him to drop me off a block away from school so nobody knows I have a so called chauffeur.
"Thanks Charles.", I say as I open the car door.
"You're welcome Miss Harper."
I get out and it takes my five minutes to arrive a school. It doesn't take long for me to get strange and disgusted looks from the other students. Well, here goes another day in hell. And I walk through the front doors.
A/N: Yay! Chapter 1 is finally up! This story will switch between Harper and Josh's POV. I came up with the plot/idea of this story and Addi instantly fell in love with it when I told her. I really hope you guys like it! ~ Leah :)
