I've joined a sports team, so unlike me I know, and I've been focusing on different things like actually doing my homework.

That meant I had been spending more time with Madeline. Remember that cute blonde nerd that tutored me one time? Yeah, strange about all the spent time had been on books, not boobs. Anyway, I had been keeping distance from the Hamiltons. Surprising but expected. I think it has been affecting Chanel the most, receiving text messages almost every day up until recently she stopped. I honestly didn't know what to do, I've joined basketball, rugby, football and then rugby again just to seem busy and occupied with something. It does keep me occupied and it gives me a reason to keep my distance, I kinda need participation points at school or else I fail the semester for not having much class participation but also school activities. I might as well not exist at school but that's not possible. I'm Abby Cadwell.

Walking my way to Madeline's house, I clutch the strap of my duffel bag which consist of two books and a bunch of dirty underwear and socks and stud shoes. After training, I've done a quick shower before going straight to Madeline's. I had Aiden give me a lift with my motorcycle since I couldn't really put my duffel bag anywhere.

I knock on the door twice because three times would sound impatient and one knock would be ignored. I clear my throat and wait for Madeline to open the door, instead, I see her mother behind the door.

She lets me in, knowing I'm here to do some work.

"Hello Abby, how are you?" Her mom asks as she sits on the couch.

"I'm great, thanks! I've just had my training earlier," I tell her.

"That's good, you must be tired then?"

"A little bit," I say before I give a wave and head to Madeline's room.

I open the door to see Madeline on the floor fixing her scattered clothes and books.

"Hey," I give a smile as I slowly close the door behind me. I stand near the door, placing my duffel bag next to my foot.

"Sorry for the mess," she apologised with a sheepish grin. "Just sit on my bed."

"No worries, I can help. Are you looking for something?" I ask, kneeling down.

"Just a sports bra for tomorrow's training," she says, finally plucking out what I think is the sports bra she was looking for.

"I heard you're going against st. Stephens, I heard they're good. Good luck though," I tell her as I proceed to help her with the pile of clothes.

"You substitute the x with the y, do you get it?" She circles the numbers and letters and scribbles little notes to help me understand better.

"I think I do, like this?" I do a similar method and she nods, watching closely and probably thinking ahead calculating everything in her head. Unbelievable.

"So how about that break you promised like ten minutes ago?" I grin, shutting my textbook close.

She rolls her eyes playfully, finally agreeing as she leans back on her pillows. I do as well and sigh.

"I keep telling you, you can pass this but you're so damn lazy," she slaps my thigh.

I giggle, shaking my head. "Of course I can pass it, I can pass anything because I'm Abby Cadwell."

"Wow, you're impossible," she mutters as she looks away.

"Impossible? Then why am I in your bed with you?" I laugh as she gets up to sit on the chair.

"I shouldn't even be the one leaving my bed," she says as she gives herself a facepalm. I just laugh, enjoying her company and kindness.

I stare at her shamelessly knowing full well Madeline still has a thing for me. She's a great friend, I love being around her and she's just like a bundle of joy, she's very precious.

"Are you seeing anyone, Mads?" I ask as I sit upright, using my arms to support me.

"I'm- yeah, I'm seeing someone I guess," she pushes her glasses up on the bridge of her nose.

"You guess?" I chuckle, still staring at her knowing that I'm making her feel uncomfortable.

"Yeah, he's nice, I ought to spend some time with him going on dates. He's sweet," she says with a hint of uncertainty.

"Are you going out with him just because he's nice? Don't feel bad, Mads. Do you even like the guy?" I may have been giving her a little pressure with my replies and I don't know why.

"I- I like him, yes. He treats me well," she says getting up from her seat. She leans her side on the wardrobe, crossing her arms. She seems insecure now.

I stand as well. "I can treat you better Mads," I take a step closer, watching her closely. I see her eyebrow twitch a little.

"That's not what the other hundred girls say about you," she says suddenly laughing at my face.

I take a step back to retreat. "I'm just kidding. Hah! Rest easy, let's get back to studying you wild girl." I may have been attracted to her that second.
