Thomas' Sister (Newt X Reader) [DISCONTINUED]

Chapter 2

Y/N's P.O.V

Thomas took my arm and led me to go and get breakfast. Frypan had made the usual breakfast. Everything was going as it usually did, we got our food and sat down at a table with Minho and Newt. I stayed quiet as I ate...I didn't utter a word for the whole meal. I could feel the stares of the three boys burning into me. Once I finished I got up without a word to the boys and washed up my dishes and went and got ready to go into the maze. I tied up the laces on my trainers and walked to the entrance and there I waited for Thomas. We always ran together and just because of my problems I wasn't going to change the thing that my brother and I have in common.

Newt's P.O.V

Y/N was really acting odd at breakfast and I have no idea why she would be like this. She and I are very close and she usually tells me everything but I am getting the feeling that she isn't being 100% honest with me. She usually talks like there is no tomorrow but during that meal...quiet as a mouse. Not a word. We all looked at her whilst she kept her head down and continued to eat. Not even a glance came my way. She really was acting up and I have a feeling Thomas may know why. After she had finished eating she just...left. Just like that. Without even saying see you in a minute or something.

So, when she left and we had finished eating I pulled Thomas to the side so I could ask him about Y/N's unusual behaviour.  Once we were out of earshot I asked "What's up with Y/N ? She doesn't seem like herself" With that Thomas replied "I don't know. She has been really distant lately. I'm worried about her too. Look, I'll keep an eye on her whilst we are in the maze today alright and I'll let you know if anything happens or if she says anything" I didn't want to barge in on her business. But, she won't tell her brother what's wrong and she can't even tell me what's wrong either. "Thanks Tommy. I'll see you later. Now go get ready. The doors are about to open and it looks like Y/N is waiting for you " Thomas nodded to me and went and got ready. I hope she's alright....

Thomas' P.O.V

After my talk with Newt, I knew I had to find out today. For her sake. For my sake. Once I was ready, I ran up to join Y/N just as the doors were about to open. "Well, you sure did take your time." She forced one of her fake smiles. I wanted to see her real one. I knew when she faked them that she was wearing a mask and pushing down how she really felt. I simply smiled back to her. "And...what did Newt talk to you about?" Great...I thought. She saw me talking to Newt about her but thank goodness she was so far away that it was physically impossible for her to hear us. I had to come up with something fast. "We...we were talking about...we were talking about when the new greenie comes, who will be taking him on the tour." Y/N raised an eyebrow "The greenie won't be here for another three weeks yet...but best to be prepared than unorganised. Now let's get going..."

She sprinted into the maze as I trailed along just beside her. I think that the only time I will be able to get the truth out of her will be at our lunch break. I just need to keep up the act of the unknowing brother for a few more hours and then I can attempt to get the truth.

Y/N's P.O.V

It was odd that Thomas and Newt were talking about the new greenie. I mean it's three weeks away and they don't need that long in advance to prep for the new arrival. But I just let it go and continued to run. Left. Left. Right. Left. Right. Right. Right.

^Time skip^

Now it was time for out lunch break. The tension between Thomas and I was very noticeable and it disturbed me when we ran. I knew he eager to tell me something. I guess I'm about to find out then. We sat down and leant against the walls of the maze and sat in silence for a couple of minutes. Then Thomas spoke up. "What's up with you Y/N?" He asked with concern. "Nothing....Why do you ask?..." He sighed and looked straight into my eyes. I hated it whenever he did that. "That's a shucking lie Y/N and you know it. You haven't been acting like your usual self over the last week. I won't take any lies. I can tell when you are lying...now please tell me what's wrong...Newt, Minho and I are really concerned..."

To hear the that the other guys were concerned was a surprise to me. Well...except for Newt. He and I are very close...but I can't hide the truth for much longer. "If you want the truth...I'll give you the truth..." I took a deep breath and got up and sat down next to Thomas and he faced me and looked into my eyes again and he seemed ready to hear what I had to say. "It all started the second I went to sleep seven days ago...."
