Eliza Walsh was born October 20th, 1914 in Rochester New York. In her first life. She wasn't rich or someone with of high status. Her father was Gerald Walsh, a lawyer with vibrant crazy red hair. A prominent chin with a small beard paired with icy blue eyes. Her mother Linda Walsh a dark redheaded woman. Who had wavy hair that reached shoulder length her, eyes a deep emerald green.
Eliza's mother was a farmer's daughter so Eliza Walsh wasn't anything special according to her. The only different thing about her that was different from most girls her time. Is that her parents raised her to be independent and always to be herself.
If men didn't like it they could run along and go marry someone else. As far as her family was concerned. Ironically she fell in love in a way different from most. No one expected that Eliza had fallen in love with a woman named Rosalie Hale.
No one knew until their final moments together, some stories don't always end well. Especially love stories that are famous for ending in tragedy and death.
Unfortunately, there's was one of those.
November 22, 1932
Rosalie's parents had pushed her more and more. To date Royce King but she could never love Royce. A fiery passion inside her called out for Eliza. Yet her heart still had another yearning. A child.
Eliza and Rosalie were playing a dangerous game. Rosalie's parents knew Eliza and Rose were close best friends. Eliza would come over and they'd be alone in Rose's room. If her parents found out they'd be livid!
Pacing around her room in a Rose pink dress she wore a light tan net yarn bowler. Her hair tied back in a bun. Rosalie paced back and forth across the wooden floor. Her hand clenched together tightly.
She contemplated today's plan, Rosalie was supposed to meet up with Eliza for a walk in a pasture for some time together.
Rosalie felt like she was still to young she didn't understand what she had with Eliza yet. She thought maybe she was just to in love with the idea of love. Maybe she was being irrational and this thing with Eliza was nothing but a fling. Until she finally found the right person to settle down with.
But she was also scared what if this was a mistake?
She was in love with Eliza but loving Eliza meant she could never bare children. Oh, how she adored children Rosalie wanted children so badly. Her longing only grew when she visited Vera. Who had the cutest baby boy. That had dark little curls that framed his sweet rosy face. Vera adored him he was her pride and joy.
So that day she made her decision, Rosalie was going to break Eliza's heart.
She hailed a cab having it take her to the pasture. Every turn of the wheel brought regret to her stomach and heart. Rosalie felt like this was the longest cab ride on earth. Spending time with Eliza had made her feel so alive their conversations were never boring.
Rose felt she needed to do this her dream was to fall in love. Get married and live in a white house with a picket white fence. Wait for her husband to come home every day. To kiss her after coming home from a hard day of work.
Arriving at the sunny pathway pasture. She told the cab driver to stay put Rose had already spotted Eliza. Leaning almost sitting on a wooden poled fence. She breathed in hands and body, shaking a bit.
Clutching her Maude handbag she slowly strolled towards Eliza. Who wore a white dress shirt tucked into a black long skirt with suspenders. Her red hair covering her face. Eerily as She drew closer it became overcast, Gray clouds shrouding the sun sucking all happiness from the area.
Rose swallowed her saliva as her mouth became dry. She didn't know if she even had the strength to do this. As it began lightly sprinkling standing next to Eliza who drew closer to her happily she put out her hand.
"Eliza" Her voice came out shakily. "Stop! right there I need to have a word with you. Afraid she'd break, and give in Rosalie knew, even more, had to do this. Eliza creased her brow frowning. Puzzled, she stood there silently, arms at her side. "What is this Rose?" Rosalie looked Eliza in the eyes fighting herself to keep her gaze away.
"We should break up, I think we should stop seeing each other. We can't have any contact us being together is a bad idea. We- we we're both women." She said stuttering then clenching her hands. Eliza was so shocked she stood there gaping.
Surging forward Eliza grabbed a retreating Rose's arm pulling her close and personal Her green eyes full of desperation "Rose, I don't understand what's going on don't just run away from me! Look me in the eye, and tell me you don't want me as I want you. Tell me you don't love me..."
Two Silhouette stood out in the gray haze red and gold. Leaning flushed against each other, Rose closed her eyes, swallowing something in her broke. She tried to speak but only a croak came out. "Rose look at me..." Eliza cupped Roses cheek with a cold pale hand. Rose opened up her eyes meeting sorrowful green.
Brushing her lips against Roses, Eliza kissed her deeply wrapping her arms around Rose's shoulders. Rosalie kissed back she couldn't tell if it was salty tears or rain. Turning away quickly before Eliza could gather her thoughts. She ran away to the taxi the wet earth sticking and turning under her feet. Getting inside the cab screamed at the man to go. Panicking he footed the gas spewing dirt everywhere.
Looking out the window she saw the rain pouring harder. She sighed in relief holding her bag against her. When she knew Eliza wouldn't be able to catch up. Turning around she saw Eliza running with all her might after the Cab. A look of agony etched into her wet tangled hair and face.
Rosalie's heart broke at the sight of Eliza struggling so hard. To no avail as she couldn't catch up anymore collapsing her the mud. She wanted to turn back god, she felt so awful. Eliza's sad green eyes watched Rosalie and the taxi cab growing further. Until it became a speck and disappeared.
Shame filled Rose's heart, Unfortunately, this wasn't the first and only time shed hurt Eliza.
