Charlie dropped Eliza off at home before departing. Leaving her alone with her thoughts if she reincarnated why couldn't Rosalie have? That's why Eliza felt so queasy and sick Love fear anger anxiety dread. All of these emotions flowed through her aching tired body. Wracking her muscles, organs, and brain. Eliza just wanted to scream her mind was so overloaded. Grabbing a pillow Eliza stared at the soft cotton object. That had blue stripes on it running horizontally.
Shaking arms lifted the pillow up to her face. Eliza screamed horrendous Wailes full of grief and anguish each time she screamed her wail. Her throat hurt more. Becoming scratchy to the point; Eliza almost couldn't speak. Hoping that she'd feel better and the pillow muffled it enough but she didn't feel better.
Sorely she laid down on her bed, her lungs and chest hurt. She felt all of the traumas and things she went through to this point. Just sit there in a miserable lump in the pit of her stomach.
Tired her brain fought to work, Yet it couldn't she was to tired and sleep-deprived. Her eyes closed painfully throwing her into miserable dreams of her yester-year the day she died.
March 10th, 1933, Rochester Newyork
Swirling dark mists flickered to life an old degrade film that flickered in and out. Out on the docks where they planned to take a boat out of New York. Caught off guard they were cornered by Royce and Rosalie's father. Who wore a sneer on his face the bulbous man yelled causing spittle to fly from his lips. "Rosalie get here now!" He stomped point to his side.
Rosalie fixed a death grip on Eliza's hand, her heart quaking in her chest, tilting her head down and clenched her teeth. "Rosalie don't make this any harder than it already is come." Royce spoke reaching his hand out. Rosalie Spotted a silver gun protruding out reflecting light, tucked into the side of his slacks.
Rosalie yanked Eliza back her face ashen they backed away the closer the men got. "You disgust me! You don't think I don't know what you've been up to?! Under my roof out in public where you can embarrass me!?" Rosalie's father yelled as his face went beat red and veins protruding from his neck. Eliza made a motion for them to run with her head.
"Don't even think about it..." Royce glared at Eliza pulling out his gun cocking back the revolver pointing it at them Eliza's shoulders tightened. "Foul! Disgusting! Wh***!" Mr.Hale spat at the ground. " How am i supposed to marry you off to someone respectable!? If word of this got out id be ruined!
Thankfully, as us businessmen do we make business. Royce has kindly agreed to take you off my hands. Now I'm gonna ask one more goddamn time Rosalie Lillian Hale get over here!" Mr.Hale pulled out another revolver pointing it at them.
Rosalie shielded Eliza with her body facing her back toward the men.
Bitter glass shard tears dripped out of Eliza's eyes she could see where this was going. Eliza held Rosalie's face giving her a teary smile planted a kiss on her head pulling Rosalie into a tight embrace.
Closing her eyes she rested her head on Rosalie ."G-go" She croaked out, Rosalie shook her head "No! I won't let them hurt you !" Rosalie pleaded gripping on to Eliza's tan trench coat. "It's okay, I love you, my life for yours any day." Eliza shoved Rosalie in Royce's direction who hungrily grabbed her. Rosalie tried to escape his grasp fighting. "Father don't hurt her!" Rosalie cried out, Mr.Hale starred Eliza down with an insidious grin who glared back daggers. "I won't, you will." Rosalie stopped fighting "W-what?!"
Holding out a gun he kept concealed, Mr.Hale held the gun out."You either shoot her or I will!" He said, his chin jutting in a cruel grin. Shoving the gun in Rosalie's hands, she fumbled with the gun her eyes widened staggering back. "No! No father please no i can't! Let her go please!" Rosalie begged.
Standing Rosalie Hale held at gunpoint by Royce and her father. Loathing for both of them flaming inside her. Her brown hat shrouding the tear-stained pained face underneath. Her warm overcoat clinging to her high risen shoulders and white dress.
What a beautiful executioner Eliza's eyes softened. Forced to aim a pistol at the heart of the only woman; that she ever loved. Rosalie's mother and father keen on marrying her off to Royce King had set her up.
Her lover of green-eyes and firey red bobbed hair standing there eerily calm and still. Accepting her fate at the chance no harm would come to her beloved. Rosalie's arms shook they were heavy with lead weighing her down. Fear filled her entire being the blood rushing through her ears, a deeper part of herself knew she couldn't do it.
"Hurry up and do it!" Royce yelled angrily in his mind, Rosalie belonged to him. Usal calm black smoothed back hair hung sweaty and erratic around his face. Taking his gun he aimed at the ground shooting a warning round.
Causing Rosalie to jump in fear she cried even harder. She didn't want to do this Rosalie's heart couldn't survive this! Memories of her and Eli flashed through her mind.
Them smiling together going on secret dates fingers intertwined sneaking kisses making love. Rosalie didn't want anyone else but Eli. Her father found out about there love gave her two choices shoot Eli or they'd do it for her. Tears streaming down a young Rosalie's face the guns shaking in her hand. "Rosalie I love you."She said.
It tore her apart hearing the confession that lit a fire inside her a year ago. Rosalie's palms sweat making the gun hard to grip in her hands. She couldn't! She couldn't!
Eliza felt peace inside herself even the silver gun Rosalie held to her chest. Just in the middle of her breasts above her beating heart was beautiful Its barrel intricately carved with vines. The handle smooth pale ivory.
Rosalie felt ill Eliza comforted her even in the face of death walking forward. Grabbing the gun Eliza placed it on her heart.
Closing her eyes she accepts her fate.
BAM
Her death was not immediate; the empty round dropped out clinging on the ground. Rosalie's eyes were shut unable to accept or even see the atrocity she committed. Eliza's mind screamed in agony barely able to keep her eyes open.
A piercing pain scurried under her skin and bones frying her brain. Dropping back facing the sky a freezing chill flew over her body Eliza gasped, losing control of her body shuttered. Rosalie couldn't hear anything but wheezing. Cracking open her eye's true unaltered horror-filled Rosalie's soul. Quickly she skittered over to Eliza's prone form, tears streaming down her face.
"Rosalie..." Eliza rasped reaching for her Lovers hand giving one last squeeze. Rosalie knelt blood soaked into the knees of her dress. Eliza was scared shitless of dying; she felt tired and weak. All of her bodily functions slowly began to cease.
Rosalie dug her fingers fiercely into Eliza's bloodied clothed back. "Shhh... I've got you, I love you." Rosalie cried Eliza thought Her girlfriend looked beautiful despite the tears in her eyes and blood on her body. They had a good run together she loved it all the good and the bad, it tore her apart figuratively to leave so soon. Eliza desperately wanted to live, laugh, and love with Rosalie. Eliza's mind felt off discombobulated floaty from the blood loss
Everything span doubled and she never noticed how beautiful the night sky was. The star-speckled sky fading in and out of view. They were all so small and insignificant here on earth. Compared to the vastness of space they were really nothing. Existence, a small miracle in itself unknowable in reason. Everyone is a speck of stardust in invisible world's colliding. If she were her own world Eliza would create a world where she and Rosalie could exist in peace, safe, warm, and happy. She would have married Rosalie given her everything.
As the light faded from Eliza's eyes she tried to hold on.
But even the brightest star fades.
