An Afreet is a subclass of the Djinn. They are malevolent and powerful beings with great wisdom, but are usually evil and difficult to control. A few variations of spelling for Afreet are Ifrit, efreet, ifreet, afrite, and afrit. They are a class of infernal Jinn, and also held to be a death spirit drawn to the life-force (or blood) of a murdered victim seeking revenge on the murderer. They are on a level below that of angels and demons, and are noted for their strength and cunning. Thay have a fiery appearance, and can be either male or female in gender. They cannot be harmed by regular weapons (however magic is able to harm them). They inhabit the layers of the underworld and desolated places on the surface, such as in ruins or caves. Afreets are known for their ruthlessness and even though they can reveal themselves as Positive or Negative, are more commonly encountered as negative.
