Baba Yaga, known by various other names, is a supernatural being who appears as a deformed and ferocious looking witch. She flies around in a mortar, wields a pestle, kidnaps (and presumably eats) small children, and lives in a hut that stands on chicken legs. She has been known on rare occasions to offer guidance to lost souls, and may either help or hinder those that encounter or seek her out (but it is usually the latter).
