"And to our future king!" I announced as Kaden and I arrived at the dining table.
He wore luxurious velvet robes the shade of a deep and rich wine red. They were indeed fit for a king. I had once worn them on my 18th birthday as so did my father, and his, and so on before.
Our breakfast surely wasn't the healthiest, but of course delicious and extravagant. We all laughed and talked altogether as a family.
"So, when's your Selection taking place?" I asked Kaden.
"Do we have to talk about that now?" He whined back at me.
"Don't worry, you'll be fine, you just have to smile and look pretty for the cameras." Eady said. I'm glad she isn't bitter about her not being fit to rule. "Just try to avoid getting people to hate you..."
"I had mine when I was 19, you're only one year away," I teased. It would be okay if he had his at 18.
"Well, then we should start planning," America said.
"Oh, and try not to be physically assaulted by a girl," I said, looking to my left at America.
