Arias POV

It was dark.

The street was empty, damp and humid.

I ran my fingers down the sticky railing of the ramp that led down to the train station.

Why was I here?

I heard a noise and I shot round to see what it was. Of coarse I saw nothing.

The urge of running came to mind and I sew a dark figure right at the end of the tunnel behind me.

I started to pant as I excelled into a sprint and ran down the wet tunnel.

Before I could scream out for help I was knocked to the ground and a kick was kicked into my stomach.

"You're dead Aria. Just because I'm gone doesn't mean they won't get you," the man said and my blood went cold.

It was my fathers.

I woke up screaming and sweating as I jolted up and held my arms around my body.

Before thinking twice I leapt out of bed and ran past the duchess snatching my phone and running into the kitchen.

I squeezed myself right into the corner of the kitchen and dialled Kayden's number completely oblivious to our incident this afternoon.

The ringer rang twice before Kayden's husky voice answered the phone with a hello.

"Kayden," I managed to say my voice trembling with fear as I held the phone close to my ear which my shaking hand.

"Aria. What's wrong? Are you ok? I'm coming over," he said and I mumbled a quick ok before he hung up the phone.

Kayden's POV

I didn't even bother knocking so I just hastily searched for he spare key hiding under her doormat.

I pulled it out and unlocked the door before opening the door and closing it again.

"Aria," I whispered and I heard a small voice coming from the kitchen of the dark house.

I walked around slowly, turning on my phone flashlight.

Shit how is she not afraid of the dark?

I gasped when I saw her tiny figure stuffed into the corner of the kitchen trembling with fear as tears ran down her tear stained cheeks.

"Baby," I cooed and bent down and crawled to her taking her into my arms.

"You're ok, you're ok. You're safe here with me," I said as she curled up into my lap nuzzling her face into my chest.

I slowly stood up my arms under her legs and back for support and I lifted her up bridle style and carried her away from the cold kitchen floor.

"It was... A nightmare," she stuttered and I lightly kissed her cheek before I laid her down in the bed with me in it as I wrapped my arms around her.

I felt her hands clutch onto my shirt as her face stayed buried in my neck.

"It was my father," she whispered and anger rose inside me of what that man did to her.

I felt my grip on her tighten as we laid in the bed in the dark.

"I'll never let anyone hurt you Aria. I want to change, just for you," I found myself saying.

The room was quite and still for a few seconds when I debated whether Aria has fallen asleep or not.

So when Looked down I found that she had fallen daintily asleep in my arms.

She mustn't have heard what I said.

I scooted down the bed a little so I could rest my head comfortably on the pillow.

I felt her head move onto my chest and I rested my chin in her hair on the top of her head.

She was all i needed. Nothing else matters but keeping her safe.

Arias POV

"You can cook?" I asked sounding surprised as I walked out my bedroom to find Kayden in the kitchen cooking up so something wonderful smelling.

"Excuse I got an A in Home Ec in grade 8," Kayden said acting offended.

I giggled and sat on the bench with my legs dangling down hitting some cupboards underneath me.

"Thankyou, for last night Kayden," I said quietly looking down at my hands.

"But I thought we didn't have sex?" He smirked and I through my head up surprised.

That's a delicate subject he's touching from our incident yesterday.

"I'm kidding Aria, it's okay. You're all that matters to me." He said and sang the last part of the Justin Beiber song.

"You remembered," I giggled referring to the song.

He nodded before cautiously flipping the bacon flinching everytime it crackled in the pan.

"It's gonna spit," I said all at once causing him to jump back doing some girly scream.

"Kayden," I laughed and he smirked at me slowly walking over.

"Are you laughing at me?" Kayden asked raising an eyebrow as he moved my legs apart so he could walk in between.

I shook my head biting my lip to try and stop the smile.

"Your lying," he smiled placing his lips to mine.

The kiss was soft and sweet as my arms stretched around his waist.

His lips moved in sync with mine and butterflies rose to my stomach In a flutter.

He pulled away slowly and I held onto his bottom lip grinning a little as he smirked at me surprised.

I leaned forward again so I could deepen the kiss by letting my tongue find it's way into his mouth.

Kayden seemed a little taken back by my dominance but he seemed to handle it because he moved forwards again and his tongue brushed my top teeth.

Shortly after he pulled away only to hug me laying his head on my shoulder.

"I have this thing today and I want you to stay here because this one could get brutal." Kayden said as he pulled his head away to look me in the eye in all seriousness.

"No," I protested as my eyebrows creased together.

"I want to be with you," I said and he sighed putting head forehead on my shoulder.

I kissed his hair lightly before he spoke again.

"I'll stay with Jace," I said smiling my eyes practically begging for his approval.

"Aria I don't want you getting hurt, I couldn't live with myself if something happened to you-" Kayden said but I cut him off.

"You're all that matters to me," I whispered and he smiled taking me again in a hug and took me off the bench allowing me to keep my legs wound around his waist.

"Fine but you don't watch me fight," he told me as I slowly slid down his legs so I could evenly place my feet on the ground.

I nodded.
