They echo on
Those soft piano keys
Down empty halls
Past broken walls
That melody once so full of beauty
Now damaged beyond repair
Haunting, hollow
Redundant and pointless
Nothing but endless
It leaves you breathless
.
The memory of what was
But is no longer
The hope of what could have been
Reduced to ashes in the wind
Resonating still are those soft piano keys
Continuing on
Though everything else is gone
.
Each note pulls on the next
Gradually slowing
Shattering the tune further
Could it be?
Those soft piano keys
Have lost their gentle shell
.
No one left to prevent the chaos that is fated
All have come to be hated
A plan gone wrong
Caused both to fall
Trapped in regrets and hearing only
Those soft piano keys
Forevermore
.
By chance, another will fall
By chance, another will hear the call
And those soft piano keys
May finally be put to ease
