He has been the best goalie in the country all season. He finished second in the nation in both goals against and save percentage. Colton Point was just named a Hobey Baker award finalist for being the best goalie in the country. Point made his teammates look better night in and night out and having fun doing so. Coach Vaughan has said great things about the sophomore goalie from North Bay, Ontario because of his unprecedented play in between the pipes. Colgate wouldn't be the team they were this season if it wasn't for Colton Point. The theme of this college hockey season was shock the world and that's exactly what Colgate did in 2017-18 by placing sixth in ECAC hockey. Point is the seventh player in program history to be nominated for the award which is not surprising because of the season he had.
