I made my way down the ladder. Miya followed. "So, where are we going? Where does he live?" I glanced at her. Her face was practically glowing with excitement. The look was so familiar, it brought a twinge to my chest. "Drake lives on the edge of the Badlands." I said after a minute. We dropped to the ground. Miya gazed at me expectantly. "He lives to the East." I said. Miya nodded and we made our way into the center of town, a busheling square with shops on every corner. Kinda similar to the Red Keep, now that I think about it. "Hey, Miya!" I heard a voice shout. I turned to see an Elven boy with redish hair. His brown eyes were full of excitement. He ran up to us. "Hello, Peter." Miya said, gazing at the boy. He was much shorter than her, obviously a child. He grinned at me. "Who's he?" Peter asked, staring at me. Miya smiled slightly. "Peter, this is Grayson." Peter's eyes widen. "You mean the guy who fights demons and the Empire?" My eyes widen. Did Miya really tell him my secrets? Who else did she tell? I glanced at Miya. She shrugged, looking apologetic. "That's so cool!" Peter exclaimed. Then he leaned over and whispered, "I know she made it up, but i'm pretending so her feelings aren't hurt." Then he proceeded to praise me for my feats that were "made up".  I couldn't help but laugh. Miya shrugged, having heard every word he said. "I knew he'd think I made it up, that's the only reason I told him." She whispered to me, to softly for Peter to hear. "I was babysitting him and he asked for a story. So I told him the greatest story I knew." I felt my face grow hot and I shrugged. "Not that great." I muttered. She gave me a disbelieving look. "Right." She muttered, looking like she wanted to argue. Suddenly a voice called Peter's name. "Gotta go." Peter announced. "Nice to meet you Grayson." He gave me a sly look before disappearing into the crowd.

I smiled slightly. "Nice kid." I commented. Miya nodded. "Yes, but a pain in the neck at times as well." I laughed. "Aren't they all?" Miya smiled. "I suppose so." We continued to walk. Before long we ran into Thea. "Hey you two!" She said with a smile. I nodded at her. "Thea." Thea smiled. "Where are you two going?" She asked. Miya glanced at me. "Actually, sis, we're going to see a friend. Not sure when we'll be back." Thea's face fell. "Oh. Where are you going?" She asked. I frowned. "East." I'd rather not tell her too much about where we were going. Actually, I'd like to not tell her a thing, but considering she's Miya's sister, that's not an option. Thea looked at her sister. "Miya, can I come?" I blinked, surprised. Miya sighed. "I don't know Thea." She exchanged a glance with me. I sighed. "I don't think she should come." Thea frowned. "But why not?" She asked. Miya glanced around. "Sis, it could be dangerous." Thea glared at Miya. "Miya, im older than you! I used to babysit you! I'm coming!" I sighed. Miya frowned. "Thea-" "Don't Thea me!" Thea snapped. "I'm coming, whether you like it or not!" I frowned. "Let her come." I said unhappily. No point fighting over it. Miya blinked. "But...what about him?" Thea frowned. "Him?" She asked, looking confused. I sighed. "Well, if she's as good a fighter as you, and has the common sense to run, she'll be fine." Thea sighed. "Are you two going to tell me what you are talking about?" Miya glanced at me. I shook my head. I know she will most likely find out eventually, but I don't exactly go around telling people my past. In fact, the list of people who know is so small I could count them on my hand. Miya turned to face her sister. "Thea, lets just say Grayson is followed often." I rolled my eyes. Thea blinked. "Followed? By whom?" I sighed. "Multiple things. Come on, are we going or not?" I took the lead, Miya ans Thea following. This will be interesting. I thought to myself. If only...

We walked for about two hours. I walked ahead, clutching my old map, with Miya and Thea tailing me. We were in the center of a dense forest, with thick vegetation. Miya coughed. "Is it just me, or is it getting hard to breathe?" I glanced at her. I smelled smoke, but I didn't want to alarm them. Perhaps it was someone's campfire, though I highly doubted it. I began to walk faster. Miya, seeing something was wrong, ran to catch up with me. "Grayson, what is it?" Even as she spoke, the smoke grew thicker. Thea ran to catch up with us. "Um, guys..." The bush to our left burst into flames. Miya screamed.

"Fire!" I yelled, backing up. I pulled out my sword on reflex, but there was nothing I could fight. "We have to backtrack!" I yelled to Miya and Thea. I turned to run back, but the path behind us burst into flames. "We have to keep going." Miya yelled at me. I nodded, sheathed my sword, and ran foreward. Miya ran ahead of me. Thea screamed, "Miya! Watch out!" The branches above our head were on fire. As I watched, one fell, headed for where Miya stood. I rushed forward, without thinking, and pushed her out of the way. I could feel the heat of the flames on my back as the branches fell to the ground, creating a wall of flames between us and Thea. "Miya?! Grayson?!" Thea's voice floated over the flames, just barely audible.  "Are you two ok?" I glanced at Miya. She had a bruize on her arm, and her hair was stinged. She appeared to be in shock. I glanced at myself. I appeared to be fine. "We're ok!" I shouted. Thea's voice came again, sounding anshous. "Should I jump through?" She asked. I shook my head. "No! Thea, can you see any gaps in the flames?" There was a pause. "No! Wait, there's a gap, and it looks like it leads to safety! You guys need to get over here!" I glanced around. Nothing but flames from where I stood. Miya and I are going to have to go in deeper. "We can't! You, go, we'll find another way through!" "No!" Thea gasped. "I can't leave you guys!" "Trust me!" I shouted. There was a pause. "Ok." Thea said at last. "I'm going to backtrack." I blinked. She was going home! "I'll bring Miya back! I promise!" I shouted. There was no reply. She had gone.

I glanced around. "Miya, we need to go." No reply. I looked down at her. She was kneeling on the ground, her eyes wide with shock. I eyed the flames. They were growing nearer. There was no time to wait! I knelt down and scooped up Miya in my arms. She was oddly light. She let out a small whimper and whispered something I couldn't catch. I turned and ran into the flames. I ran, dodging flaming trees. I could see animals that were two slow to escape the blaze running in a panic. I blinked. Usually animals knew about a forest fire before humans. Yet, these animals acted like...Like the fire had just suddenly appeared. I tensed. Please don't tell me... I jumped over a burning log. I glanced around, looking for a clear path. The whole forest appeared to be on fire! Then I saw something that made my blood run cold. How... How is that even possible? I gaped at the brown haired figure in the center of a blackened clearing. He turned, and I just caught a glimpse of glowing white eyes before I blacked out.

I stared at Herobrine. He wanted me to fight the zombie. I eyed the undead abomination coming at me. I dove away from its grasping hands and stabbed it in the chest. He nodded. I glared at the ground. I would not become the abomination he was. I refuse. Even as I grow stronger, so does he. Someone help me.
