Drake was quietly sneaking down the hallway. So far, nothing seems to have noticed him, which was good. Drake hoped his luck would last. He crept through winding hallways, dodging guards and stepping quietly. Adrenaline rushed through Drake's body, making him feel like he could do anything. He felt like he could take on Herobrine himself if he had too. Drake grinned, showing his sharp teeth. Skeletons wandered just ahead, two of them. Drake pulled out a soup can from his "lunch" and threw it in the alleyway. The skeletons ran after it. Drake could hear their footsteps receding. Drake ducked into the room they'd been guarding. Drake could sense the room filled with shelves and boxes. Drake wandered among them, taking various valuables from boxes and sticking them inside his bag.
"Are you really stealing again?"

Drake grinned at the familiar voice. He pulled an apple out of the nearest box and bit into it. "Maybe." A laugh was heard, then the sound of the being jumping down from the shelf where she had perched. "Stealing from the kitchen again, eh Drake?" Drake shrugged. "I was hungry." "Your always hungry." She said, and Drake could imagine her grin. "Perhaps." Drake could hear her skeletal feet shuffling on the floor. "Your taking quite a risk." She said softly. "If He found out..." Drake shook his head. "He won't. I'm careful." He reassured her. Her silence told Drake she wasn't buying it. Drake sighed innerly. Allison meant well, she was the first mob he'd met who didn't seem to know who he was. Drake was fine by this, as she treated him like she would any other mob. Any other friend. It felt strange, being friends with a mob. But Drake was grateful for her company. He met her when he first raided the storeroom, looking for something to eat that probably wouldn't be poisoned. She'd surprised him, poking out from behind one of the shelves. She was friendly, if a little confused as to why he was digging through the food from Earth. Since then, she's become a friendly face to Drake, and she hasn't told on him yet. Allison moved a little closer to Drake. "I've been meaning to ask." She said after a second. Drake turned his head to look at her. "Shoot." "Where do you work?" She asked curiously. "I can't seem to find you anywhere during the day." Drake flinched. When they met, Allison had assumed Drake was another servant, like her. Drake hadn't bothered to correct her. Now Drake wondered what to tell her. "I.." Allison gazed at him silently. Then she sighed. "Fine. You want to be secretive, that's just fine." Drake flinched. He didn't want to tell her who he was. It was bad enough with all the servants treating him like he might make them explode at any second. Or with Herobrine acting like he hadn't spent most of Drake's life trying to kill him. Drake just wanted something familiar, even if it was just befriending one of the kitchen staff. His "brother" would be horrified. "I'm sorry." He muttered. Allison shook herself. "Well, it's not that big of a deal." She said, nudging Drake with her arm. It was like being nudged with a metal pipe. Drake didn't really mind, though. "So what's up?" He asked. "Anything new?" Allison shrugged. "Not much. Work, then home. Repeat." Drake laughed. "Yeah, I suppose." Allison laughed with him. "You should come down to the kitchens during the day." She said. "It'd definitely make my shift easier." Drake laughed. "Maybe. I'll try." He said, struck with an urge to do something for her. He rubbed the back of his head. "Really?!" Hearing her excitement was almost enough to make Drake forget how impossible this might be. How was he going to do this? Drake felt a tinge of annoyance. He was supposed to be trying to escape, not hanging out with mobs. But maybe having a skeleton friend would be useful. At the very least, she was the only thing that was keeping him from going insane. "Sure, I'll try to get away. Can't promise anything though." He added quickly. She nodded. "Sure, I understand. See you." Drake heard her footsteps fade away. He sighed. Then he turned to make his way back to his room.

Drake slipped into his room, putting the bag on the floor by the door. He was ready to collapse into his bed. The problem was: there was someone sitting on it. Herobrine sat on the foot of the bed, with his arms crossed. He didn't seem happy. "What do you think your doing." His voice was cold. Drake swallowed nervously. Herobrine stood and walked up to Drake, gazing at him with glowing eyes. "Drake." He warned. "You know your not supposed to leave this room." He snarled. Herobrine held out his hand and Drake's bag flew into it. "What exactly is so important that you'll sneak out to steal it?" Herobrine's voice was filled with anger. "I don't like thieves, Drake." He snarled. He opened the bag and stared into it. Then he blinked. He reached in and pulled out an orange. "You-Your stealing food?" He sounded bewildered. "W-Why?" All the anger seemed to drain out of him. Drake glanced down. "I was hungry." He mumbled. Herobrine frowned. "You..." The demon sighed. He reached out and cupped Drake's face in his palm. "You could have just asked." He said, frowning. Drake edged away from him. Hero sighed. He put Drake's bag down. "Listen, Drake." He began. "Your not in any trouble, at least, not anymore." He let out an amused snort. "It seems hanging out with that blonde human must have rubbed off on you." Drake tensed. "Grayson." He muttered under his breath. Hero blinked at him. "What?" Drake frowned. "His name is Grayson." Drake muttered. Hero nodded. "Yes, him." Then, perhaps seeing the fear in Drakes head, he added, "Oh, relax, I'm not going after that Dragon Egg Thief. He's caused a lot of trouble in the world, and, if I'm being honest, I'm kind of curious to see how it plays out." Drake was confused, but Hero didn't elaborate. The demon chuckled. "Stealing out of the kitchen sounds like something he would do." Drake felt amusement bubble up inside him, especially when he recalled the time Grayson had stolen out of a cookie jar. Grayson would have definitely stolen out of the kitchens. Hero smiled at Drake. "I'm fine with you wandering down to the kitchens, but please, don't distract the guards again. I'll tell them your allowed to be in there whenever you want." Drake shifted, fighting back a yawn. It would be unwise to let his guard down. Hero noticed and chuckled. "Sorry, I forget. Go ahead and get some sleep, Diamond." There was the stupid nickname again. Drake shook off his irritation and climbed into his bed. He was briefly aware of magic swirling around him. Then he fell asleep, Herobrine still gazing at him silently.
