The Phantom Curse - Kamau

The mantra wars have begun and they were more dangerous than ever in a world created for peace. Each day was a hard fought battle and most nights the same. Sleep became a luxury. The martials held the rogues off into deep space keeping them away from earth protecting it. Months after Kamau's departure into the Mantra wars he began having nightmares of Mara. Within he held her hand as she lay hyperventilating. She confesses to him that she is pregnant. Then is lifted up by the mouth of the phantom revealing it's teeth digging into her before she is devoured by it. This goes on for a few days before he decides to speak with the others. The family meet within the confines of the eagles brief room deep into the night.

Ina: Kamau is everything alright? I don't believe I've ever seen you restless.

Kamau stands but does not speak. He didn't know where to start. The only one that knew of Mara was Gyro. His shock from nightmares of her made it difficult to think straight.

Leila: Yeah Kamau we are always here for you when you need us. We're family.

Kamau: I... I love someone...

Mimi hops out of her seat in excitement.

Mimi: You love someone! That's so cute Kamau. I love love and you have it. For a second there I thought you were a loner like Gyro. He won't admit that he loves Ina.

Gyro: I don't.

Ina: Hey this is about Kamau.

Kain: I would like to be asleep. We've got a war to fight. No time to worry about a lost love.

Amiori: Kain... SHUT UP!

Kamau: Please listen. This is hard for me. I've never loved someone before...

Mimi: Awww.

Liara: This is so surprisingly cute.

Kamau: I believe her to be in danger. You see her story is unique. She is a wonderful woman. Caring, giving. I've never felt the way she makes me feel. It's like my life has meaning. More than just the fight you know. Protecting her gives me a light. I'd give my life, not for honor but for her.

Ina: Your life does have meaning Kamau especially to us. I guess it's true we don't get to have much a life these days.

Suzu: We are still family. If you care about her, then we care about her. Whatever path you take we will support you as best we can. Don't hesitate to come to us in when you are concerned.

Liara: Yeah Kamau. You say her story is unique. Tell us what's going on. Start from the beginning. You know I love a good story.

She says looking to Zero with a love in her eyes.

Zero: Lets focus on Kamau.

Liara: (Shoot me down now but I know you'll pick me up in your big strong arms later my love.)

Kain: Anyone ever think of how this might be urgent? Can we get through this already so I can go back to sleep.

Gyro: [Nods] If you have time Kamau.

Kamau: I don't believe it to be urgent. I speak to her and she sounds fine. Just growing to believe that a nightmare may be one of warning.

Leila: That's really odd coming from you. What bothers you brother?

Liara: Don't leave out the beginning. How did you meet her?

Kamau: I met her in the plains of Talus. I was blinking through when I noticed her caravan being attacked. The assailant however was not visible. The blood of her people trail as her transport and her luxuries were destroyed. The only to survive were Mara and her keeper Kirie and they were a long way from home. While I could not see it I could at least help in their escape. So I gathered the two and blinked along my original path.
