Luke's POV

"Headphones we already got the instruments recorded it's just your part we need." Alex said again and turned towards us."Where'd you find her again?" He said after letting go of the button.

"Mrs. Hadley Orphanage," I said as Haylee arms shaky wrapped around me.

"Bull shit. An orphanage?" He said watching us then looked at the others. Jessie started singing and carefully playing and her voice almost sounded angelic.

"Yes." The others said chuckling at Alex reaction.

"She really good," Haylee said in a shaky voice.

"Come here." Alex patted his lap and reached for haylee

I looked down to Haylee biting her lip looking at Alex with afraid eyes. Before she unwrapped her arms from me. She carefully walked over the Alex before sitting on his lap. I watch as she fidgets with the bracelets on her left arm.

He whispered something in her ear and pointed to the soundboard. She looked at the soundboard and grabbed the headphones putting them on. She carefully started playing with the dials and buttons until she nodded. She then turns to look at Alex giving him a look. It the look when she wants someone opinions. He took the headphones off of her carefully and smiled and nodded.

"No way this came out of an orphanage. This is too great." He whispered, "It's awesome Haylee thank you."

"She did and she damn good," Ashton said chuckling as Haylee got off Alex lap and walked back over to me.

"What made you guys want her to sing in one of your songs," Haylee asked nervously as she looked at the other boys.

"It was Ryan's idea. He wants to find newer artists and give them a chance." Alex nodded.

"That's really cool and sweet of you guys," Haylee said as she pulled on a bracelet making it snapped her arm.

"Thanks." Alex's face fell slightly as his eyes fell to her wrists. "Um, where's calum?" Alex whispered looking up at me.

"I don't know," I said just shrugging and looked down at Haylee who now staring at the ground.

He nodded slightly before turning to the soundboard. He stopped all the music and went to the microphone to talk to Jessie.

"Hey gimme a minute I'm going to talk to the guys and turn off the mic so yeah hang tight," Alex said into the mic shrugging. He turned towards us and looked back down at Haylee.

"Do you still play the bass?" Alex asked softly bouncing his leg.

"I haven't played for a while." Haylee whisper as she looked up at him shocked a little.

"Do you think you can do a simple chord progression?" He asked softly. "She keeps speeding up and I think a beat will keep her on beat.," he whispered confusing himself.

"Yeah." Haylee nodded as she walked over to the bass and pick it up. She looked at it with unreadable looked before giving Alex a smile.

"It's um.." he stopped to think. "Jessie has the paper with the chords." He said giving up.

Haylee nodded and even chuckling a little before walking in the door. Jessie opened the door quickly and pulled Haylee into the room before shutting the door again. The sound of it locking filled the room.

"Does she not like people?" Alex asked turning towards us.

"Nope. People are not her Forte." I said as I nodded at Alex statement before looking at Ashton and Michael who were FaceTiming Calum.
