Donald Pierce x Reader (Mutant)

When you find them, one of the kids nearly zapped you, but thankfully Laura stops him. You head inside and nearly broke down to see Logan's state.

"He'll be alright. I'm Rictor", says the oldest one.

"Was he that bad?", you ask and Laura nods.

"What did you gave him?", you ask again.

Rictor gives you a vial of green liquid. "It's what enhance your mutation in you", he says.

"Laura said you knew Pierce. How?", he asks again.

"Back when I was young, we had this thing. I never told him about my mutation. He loves me, but he left as soon as I accidentally revealed what I was", you say as you sit by Logan's bed.

"But why did he kept you and not killed you?", asks Rictor.

"He said he loves me. He said I was safe with him", you say.

"Why did you leave then?", he asks.

You look over at Logan, the last remnant of your life. "I promised the professor. Logan is all I have left of my life", you say.

You join the rest of the kids outside to keep warm. Out there, underneath the stars, you told them stories about the people who were once X-Men. Jean. Scott. Ororo. Hank. Occasionally Erik and Professor X.

All those memories are the only thing that's keeping you alive, keeping you sane. Unbeknownst to all of you, a tiny drone flies above and passes by.

(MEANWHILE)

Donald watches through the monitor. There she is and the children. He sighs, this is getting hard. Rice is pressuring him and now that Rice saw (y/n), he wants her as his lab rat.

"Hey, boss. You ok?", Mohawk asks.

He knows Pierce is under a lot of pressure and he knows how much that mutant means to Pierce.

"I have to do something", says Donald.

He knows what Pierce wants to do, but feel restricted by Rice and no one dares to go over Rice, especially when Rice has X-24.

"Boss, whatever it is you plan on doing, I got your back", says Mohawk, patting Donald's back before he leaves.
