Hansol POV
As soon as I open the door to the room, I see that Joshua was lying down on the bed, staring at the ceiling while rubbing his arm. He slowly looked towards me slowly, a blank look on his face.
I notice the empty tray, well, except for only a few crumbs, next to his bed. He doesn't look at me, even when I clear my throat, just continues staring blankly as if deep in thought.
At some point, he opens his mouth. "Would you like me more if I gained weight?" He asks, still looking at the ceiling. "What if I got fat? What if I got so ugly you hated me?" I blinked once, walked over to him and held his hand. "If you got fat, I'd get just as fat so we can roll around together. You'll still be just as beautiful and charming, it doesn't matter." He chuckles, "Then I guess I might gain a few kilograms but I'll stop at 60, alright?"
Well, it was better than nothing. "Alright."
The silence was really killing me, both of us didn't really have anything to say.
"Sunday morning rain is falling~"I turn to see Joshua singing his 'signature song'. "Steal some cover, shed some skin~" We start laughing awkwardly, "Come on, you've been singing that since like 2012!" I chuckle, ruffling his cute and fluffy brown hair. "Carats are so lucky to be able to hear that beautiful voice of yours," I tell him, "But I guess I'm luckier because I get to hear it every day." I take his hand, lacing our fingers together and absolutely loving how perfectly the melded with each other.
"Are you feeling better?" I ask, "As in, your injuries." I rub his back soothingly. "I think they're starting to feel better. The nurse came in while I was eating to disinfect and change the bandages and I think they're getting better." A smile starts to tug at his lips, "I might be able to get back to the dorm next week!" what I was looking at now was a pure human embodiment of innocence and joy.
"Would you want the other members to visit today?" I ask, remembering that I have to go back later to practice and prepare for the comeback. He shrugs, "I'm not sure, especially after the last time I saw them I just feel kind of awkward about seeing them..." He speaks quietly, and I guess that if I was in his place I would feel the same. "Just..." I start, "Please, I don't want you to feel bad. If you ever have any problems you can come to me." He gives a small nod.
The image of that razor in Wonwoo's hands come back into my mind. I'm not very sure how depression works, but I'm sure that it would be hard for him at first but I really want him to trust me and open up to me a bit more.
Suddenly, Joshua's phone goes off, blasting off a marimba ringtone. I pass his phone to him, seeing that the caller is our CEO. "Hello?" He says, holding the device to his ear. "How could you be so fucking careless?!" The voice was so loud that Joshua even had to hold the phone from his ear and even I could hear it even though his speaker wasn't on. He must be furious.
"You have your schedules packed, plus you're the worst dancer out of them you need to fucking practice!!! How can you fucking practice lazing your ass off in a hospital bed?!" Tears were welling up in his eyes, and I grab the phone from his hands. "Hello?" I take some tissues and wipe away his tears as I continue the call. "I understand that you're frustrated but this is a real issue here. And isn't it part of the contract that we don't have to perform if we're sick or injured?" I can hear the stutter in his voice as he searches for words but I'm not going to give him the time. "Now, Jisoo is injured and don't worry about me, I'll be at the practice room in about 15 minutes. Have a nice day and please don't bother him about this again. Goodbye." I hang up and return Joshua's phone. "Alright, babe I have to go now. I'll contact you when I can and I'll be back to visit at night alright?"
I lean over, kissing his forehead. He blinks at me, and honestly, it looked so cute I let myself smile a bit. "Please, please don't let it bother you." I said, "Do you want another kiss?" he gives me a small nod so I lean towards him, missing his forehead and kissing his lips. "Alright, I'll see you soon." I want to stay with him longer, "Do what you can and try to sleep if you get bored."
I make my way to the door, and even his eyes are silently pleading with me to keep talking with him here. "I love you." He tells me as I open the door. "I love you too Josh."
