The beam struck us in the stomach, sending my flying. Hulk had left us on the roof of a building to fight, and the force of the beam knocked us off of the roof. We were hurtling back towards the streets of New York City, but we regained control, and we healed.

'I'm good, it's all good.' Demoria wheezed. We chuckled, and we flew back up towards the roof.

'Miss me?' We asked. The invaders backed up a tiny bit, and we swarmed them. We ripped their alien throats out, and shrieked as we watched them short circuit. We jumped off of the roof, this time of our own accord, and flew over to other rooftops. We hadn't seen Hulk since he jumped through the building, and we were worrying.

'I hope my big guy's okay.' She said, concerned.

'He'll be fine, trust me. He's pretty tough.I reassured her. As we continued our attacks, it seemed as though the invaders were multiplying. For every one we took down, two more replaced it. We groaned, but we continued to fight.

'Cynthia, Phoenix, Aquaria, and Floraa and I are gonna combine our powers to show these losers who's boss!' Demoria told me. We landed behind a car, and my body flooded with power. We felt stronger, and we heard a few shouts.

'Put the fangs and claws away. Good.' Phoenix said, and my teeth and nails went back to normal.

'Cynthia, I'm going away. I must warn you, if Hulk is in trouble, I'm popping out. It might hurt, but this is a heads up.' Demoria said before I gained full control of my body. I could hear children's screams, and I jumped into action. I raced over to a little girl who was almost cornered by the invaders, and something new happened. As I jumped over to her and tried to shield her with my body, a black orb surrounded us, and if the invaders hit it, they were blasted backwards and into a pile.

"Come on little girl. Let's get you into a safe zone." I whispered. She allowed me to pick her up, and black orb still protecting us, and she cried the whole way.

"Shhh... It's going to be okay, I promise." I tried to comfort her.

"B-b-but, I don't know where my daddy is. My mommy left him a long time ago, and he hasn't been right ever since." She sobbed. I froze on the spot. This little girl reminded me so much of myself. I had to get her to safety, I just had to.

"What's your name?"

"Marie."

"Don't worry Marie. I know how it feels. Here, go hide in this little cafe. I'll come back after this fight is over, and I'll help you." I promised. She nodded, and a man inside the little cafe opened the door, and I helped her inside. The closed the door, and I took in the name of the cafe. I then ran off into the middle of the fight once again.

More invaders were covered in ice or rock. I had made sure that none of them could travel the way I cam back from, and that was the way they were trying to get to. No more came my way, so I jumped up, and sprouted wings once more. I could hear this monstrous roar, and I quickly flew to its source. Hulk was being fired at with dozens of alien tech guns, and just as she said, Demoria forced her way out. It didn't hurt as much as I anticipated, though.

'Hulk! Hulk! Leave him alone!' Demoria shrieked. I felt her anger seep through to my skin, and she tried to block the blasts. The black orb reappeared, but it wasn't big enough to cover both of us. Demoria tried so hard to protect him, but Hulk pushed her aside, thus pushing her out of the way of an oncoming laser beam. Hulk continued to get pounded with the ammunition, and when Demoria tried to help, he shoved her out of the way, protecting her. Admitting defeat, she went away, giving me control of myself again.

"Bruce! I know you're in there! Please be okay." I yelled. Hulk turned to look at me, as if to say that Bruce was alright, and so was he. I didn't want to leave him, but stuff needed to be done. I leaped off of the roof, and sprouted my wings again. I zoomed towards another batch of aliens, when I saw the most peculiar thing. Tony Stark, carrying a missile towards the giant portal in the sky.

"Stark..." I whispered. There was no way he was getting out of there alive. It was like a door to space, actually, I think that's exactly what it was. I watched as he disappeared into the portal, and I was promptly hit in the stomach again. I was sent to the ground, face first, and I got pieces of the broken up street in my mouth. Due to my Earth powers, I was able to absorb the rock and it didn;t affect me. I then slammed my hands into the street, which created a mountain and it knocked over several aliens. I glanced up at the portal, only to watch it shut itself, and to see and very limp Tony Stark hurtling towards Earth. I sprouted my wings, but it was to fly over and find Steve. I knew he'd be in the center of the destruction, and that's exactly where he was. I landed next to him, and made sure my wings went away before they saw.

"Son of a gun." Steve said as he saw Tony.

"He's not slowing down." Thor said, and he started spinning his hammer. He was about to take off when Hulk jumped out of nowhere, and he caught Tony. He slid down the side of a building with Tony in his arms. When he landed on the ground, he tossed Tony onto the street, and we all hovered over him. I knelt beside him, a small fire playing at my palm.

"Don't it's no use." Steve mumbled. Hulk thought otherwise. He roared, making Tony jump in surprise.

"What the hell...?" Tony asked, as Hulk roared and pounded his chest with his fist.

"What just happened? Please tell me nobody kissed me." He asked in a panic.

"We won." Steve said, smiling. Tony took a deep breath and sighed with relief.

"Alright, yay. Great job guys. Say, let's not come in tomorrow. Let's just take a day. You ever tried shawarma? There's a shawarma joint about two blocks from here. I wanna try it." Tony rambled. Steve chuckled, his face all dirty. I giggled a bit as well, and Thor sighed.

"We aren't finished yet." He said, looking at Stark Tower.

"And then shawarma after?" Tony asked. I just glanced over at Hulk, and he grunted. I could feel Demoria smile, but it was a sad smile.

'Nice job kiddo. Actually, nice job all of us. Our first fight since... Well...' Demoria said. Hulk picked me up gently, and we all made our way to Stark Tower.

____________

We arrived in the tower, and I could see Loki struggling to get up. He shifted into a sitting position, and he turned to face us.

"If it's all the same to you, I'll have that drink now." He said. We just stood around him, Clint pointing and arrow at Loki's face, and I decided that I had had enough. I stepped forward, balled my hand into a fist, and punched Loki square in the jaw.

"That's for my father." I said coldly, and I backed up. Then, I slowly remembered something that I had promised that little girl.

"Guys, I gotta go. Really important." I said, rushed. I then sprouted my wings in front of everyone, ran to the big gaping hole in the Tower, and jumped.

_______________

I landed in front of the little cafe, like I told Marie I would.

"Marie!" I called out, and the little girl ran out of the cafe towards me. I smiled as she hugged my legs, refusing to let go. But, my smile slowly faded away as i saw the tears streaming down her cute little face.

"M-m-my d-d-daddy.... H-He's d-d-d-dead..." She sobbed into my leg. I urged her to let go of my legs, and when she did, my normal clothes returned, and the black body suit disappeared. I had forgotten that I was in jean shorts and a white tank top. I knelt down, and she ran into my opened arms. She sobbed into my shoulder, and she was like me more than ever now.

"Shhh, sweetie. It's okay. Cry it out." I whispered. And that's just what she did.
