The Nara brothers

Chapter 3

"Naruto, it all makes sense now, doesn't it? That ability of ours.", Shikamaru said, looking at Naruto lazily. " Yeah, it does." Naruto and Shikamaru were still in their henge as they think it is too troublesome to show it now even with their parent's permission.

As they were walking, they heard, "Mizuki, why are you doing this?". Realizing who is the owner of the voice, they quickly went to the scene, hiding to know what is going on. When they arrive, they saw Iruka being impaled by shurikens, and Mizuki standing in front of Iruka, smirking smugly while holding a big scroll. The twin immediately knew what is going on as they recognized the big scroll to be the forbidden scroll, and considering Mizuki always gave them an eerie vibe whenever he is around them, it is safe to say that Mizuki is the culprit, but they're just gonna play along with it.

Walking out of the bush that they were hiding in, they asked Mizuki "Mizuki-sensei, what is going on?". Mizuki, deciding to put an innocent act, said " Iruka-sensei, has turned traitor. He dared to steal the forbidden scroll even though he knew it was illegal. Could you two take him to Hokage-sama? I need to bring the scroll back." "Eh, why don't you take Iruka-sensei with you, while we take the scroll with us? We are just newly made genins you know, and he is a chunin. What if something happened along the way and he escaped?", Naruto replied back trying to look helpless while doing so. "No, do it. This is your higher up's order.", said Mizuki with authority lazed in his voice. " Ahh, sorry, sensei, but I don't think that I'm supposed to listen to an order coming from a traitor, sensei." As Naruto finished saying it, he went behind Mizuki taking the scroll from him with great speed. "Kagemane no Jutsu, success.", said Shikamaru, as he captured Mizuki with his shadow.

Knowing that there is no way out, Mizuki was forced to use his last resort. " Hey, do you want to know a secret?" Iruka knowing what Mizuki trying to do; he warned him. " Mizuki, it is forbidden; you can't say it !!" "Hahaha, like I care. Do you want to know the truth about the Kyuubi's Attack?" " What about it?", asked Shikamaru. "Lord Fourth never killed the demon; he sealed it inside the two of you. You two are nothing but a DEMON who killed hundreds of people on that night!!"

After Mizuki announcing the fact that Kyuubi was sealed inside Shikamaru and Naruto, the whole area turned silent with the atmosphere growing gradually colder and colder. After a few moments, a cold voice broke the silence. "So, what about it? Who do you mortal think you are? Daring to call me, The Great Kyuubi no Yoko, a demon? That is some guts you have, you mortal.", said Naruto while he undoes his henge to mess with Mizuki more. Shikamaru sighed softly as he thinks, "Naruto can be too much sometimes, jeez. I guess I could help him to get things over quickly. What a drag..."

"Brother, you can't blame him as he's nothing but an imbecile. If he thinks that he can insult us then go back alive, he is dead wrong.", said Shikamaru in a cold but mocking way while he also undoes his henge. "You're right. You know, I am slightly hungry right now. Say... can I just eat him alive since he's going to be dead anyway, brother?" "Tch... do whatever you want with him, he has no use for me." Naruto, with his violet eyes glowing, slowly walk up to Mizuki with a kunai in his hand as Shikamaru released Mizuki from his jutsu.

Mizuki was frozen in fear. Never had he ever thought that the two demons would act like this. He then started to scream in horror till he lost consciousness. Iruka just stared at what is going on fearfully not knowing what to do as he was stuck in between all of it. Iruka then also lost his consciousness too due to excessive blood loss.

After the whole incident, Anbus came and took the unconscious Mizuki and Iruka with them and told them that Hokage-sama wanted to see them.

"Naruto-kun, Shikamaru-kun, good job at stopping Mizuki from getting away with the forbidden scroll. As a reward, you can choose a jutsu from the scroll and learn it, or if you want you can take a weapon and scroll of how to use it if there is one.", said The Third Hokage smilingly. 

The Third Hokage had known both of them since they were young. To them, he is like a grandfather, so kind and loving. He would visit them frequently and give them a few pointer notes about their training.

With Lord Third's permission. The two each selected a weapon since the jutsus in it have no use for them. Naruto picked a sword named Yoso Yugo, meaning elemental fusion. Just like its name, the sword specializes in combining the owner chakra's natures. For if you have water and wind, its power will turn to ice. If you have earth and water, its power will turn to mud, and so on. Not only that, whenever a person wields the sword, its form will change to fit the person's personality, determination, and chakra. It is safe to say it become a part of our soul. Unless the master's signature or soul disappear, Yoso Yugo will never be wielded by anyone else other than its current owner. 

Naruto chose the sword because he has wind and water chakra's natures, so the sword will be his trump card.

Shikamaru, on the other hand, chose Tanoshi Yami, meaning delightful darkness. Whenever the opponent sees the blade, an illusion will be cast on them as they could see, hear, or smell. All their senses will be disabled for 10 minutes. Even though its name means delightful darkness, there is nothing delightful about at all. He chose it because he felt it would be a great help as a ninja's senses are their greatest asset after all.

Seeing what they had picked, the Hokage couldn't help but smile because he knows if it is any other kids, they would have picked the flashiest or overpowered jutsu that they might not even able to use. The maturity that those two have is something to be proud of as it is very rare for kids their age. 

As the two picked the sword up, they gave The Third Hokage their goodbyes and left without making a sound.

On Monday Morning

Naruto and Shikamaru woke up and did their routines as usual. Today doesn't feel that different even though it should as today is the day where they finally got to know about their team. "Ne, do you think that we'll be together?", asked Naruto. " I don't know. I think we might though since we're the dead lasts.", replied Shikamaru. " I hope we're on the same team, and maybe Chouji or Ino might be with. That would be less troublesome." "It would." With that said, the two reached the classroom. Looking at how noisy it is, they think, " What a drag..."

Time Skip

Iruka sensei has arrived after about 10 minutes they arrived. His complexion still seemed a bit pale, but overall, he looked fine, and that is a relief. The two thought they had scared him to his deathbed. The thought of putting him on his deathbed makes them feel kinda guilty; after all, he just got caught up in their scheme. 

After Iruka gave them a speech about ninjas' lives and their duty, the class fell in silence, which is a big phenomenon that rarely happens, but it only lasted about 1 minute as Iruka started to announce the assigned team.

"Team 1 ....... ....., Team 2 .... ........., ....." The list goes on and on. " Team 7: Sasuke Uchiha, Ino Yamanaka, and Chouji Akimichi; your Jounin-Sensei will be Kakashi Hatake. Team 8: Hinata Hyuga, Shino Abarame, and Kiba Inuzuka; yourJounin-sensei will be Kurenai Yuhi. Team 9 is still in the program. Team 10: Sakura Haruno, Shikamaru, and Naruto Nara; your Jounin-sensei is Asuma Sarutobi."

....... and that day was the day that Naruto and Shikamaru's' eardrums exploded.
