The Nara brothers

Chapter 4

After the team announcement, the new genins went to lunch. Most teams would eat together and started to get to know each other or just simply talk to one another. Team 10 is one of the few teams that didn't. As you can see, while Tram 10 did eat lunch together, the twin seemed to notice that their female teammate was sad, making the situation a little tense. Since they are naturally very awkward with girls, they didn't talk to her, afraid that they will only make it worse. I mean,... Gosh!!! Girls could be so emotional, and when that happened, no matter what you did, you will always be wrong. That's why girls are so troublesome.

The lunch break then ended after about 30 minutes. Each team went back to the classroom and wait for their Jounin-sensei. Team 10 is one of the teams who left immediately after they set foot in the classroom since their sensei was already there waiting for them to arrive.

After being called by Asuma, Team 10 was told to get to training ground 10. When they arrived, they saw their sensei smoking while staring at the sky. The sight made the Shikamaru and Naruto smile a little, thinking about how Asuma and they could get along well.

When Asuma noticed them coming, he turned around, averted his eyes from the calm and peaceful sky, told them to sit and tell about something about themselves. Sakura went first and stated, " My name is Sakura Haruno. My like is Sasuke-kun.  My hobby is Sasuke-kun. My dream is Sasuke-kun.", she said it really fast with her eyes closing and voice making squealy sound really loudly, "I dislike Ino-PIG !!!" 

When she finished, Asuma shook his head, saying " Drop that fangirl facade, if you don't want us to treat you like one. I know you're not a fangirl, so don't think that you can trick me." When he said that, the area turned silent. Everyone just froze. Sakura's face changed from the fake scowl when she mentioned Ino's name to a face full of surprise. No one was able to see right through her act right away, no matter how good they are. The twin froze because of how their sensei could just tell that Sakura put on a facade when they just met her; he must be very observant. 

"He didn't see through us too... ri-" The twin was interrupted by their sensei when he said,            " Also, Shikamaru and Naruto, don't think you could fool me. Dropped your henge, and don't try to hide your strength when you're with one of us. I understand that deception is one of ninja's greatest weapon, but deceiving your own team members would lead to a mission's failure that might even cause death. You can deceive others but not us because we need to trust one another to succeed." This shocked Sakura even more, but it also made her happy. All this time, she just thought of the two being lazy knuckleheads, who would die and dragged the team down on their first mission. This makes her re-think about the team success.

Asuma's P.O.V

Asuma sighed slightly inside his mind. He knew what he said was harsh, but they needed it. The team won't be successful if they keep on hiding secrets from each other. "Well, now that it's over, let's start again.", he thought while his attitude changes to a much friendlier one.

No One's P.O.V

"Now... since I said that, Sakura, redo your introduction.", said Asuma smilingly. His serious expression turned to complete silliness.

Sakura smiled a bit, then said " My name is Sakura Haruno. My likes are being alone and training. My dislike is a noisy, loud, and annoying person. My dream is to be like Tsunade-sama." Sakura ended her introduction with hearts in her eyes. 

The rest that was present there had a disbelief look on their faces when she mentioned her like and dislike. They can't believe that Sakura would sacrifice herself that much just to make others think of her otherwise. Applauses to her.

After Sakura finished her introduction, Naruto and Shikamaru changed back to their original look. Needless to say, Sakura was speechless. The twos' looks would make any girl swoon at them with hearts in their eyes.

Naruto then lazily said, " My name is Naruto Nara. I like clouds, quietness, going off to seclusion, families, and friends. I dislike loud places, annoying, persistent, and troublesome people, and excessive works. I want the world to be peaceful, and my dream is to be like a cloud." When Naruto ended his introduction, Shikamaru slowly raised his hand up, stated: " Same, except the name."

While Sakura nodded in acceptance to them since they all have the same likes and dislikes, Asuma thought, " Great, so all three of my students hate noises and is a shut-out. Normally, it would be a bad thing, but since everyone felt the same, I think it will work out... somehow."
"Okay, so tomorrow, we will have a gennin test. Come here at 6:00 am, sharp.", said Asuma as he disappeared from their sight.

"Well, see you here tomorrow ", said the twin while they walked out of the training ground. " Yeah, see you.", said Sakura as she picked herself up from the ground, also ready to leave.

After their first meeting with their sensei, team 10 went back home as normal. Everything was fine until one thought hit them, " Wait for a second, Asuma-sensei didn't introduce himself."

Meanwhile...

Asuma had been feeling that something is off, but he had no idea what it is. He turned his head to Kurenai, who was laying next to him, and asked, " Did I forget an important day or something? It wouldn't be our 4 years anniversary since it was yesterday. What is it that I forgot?".  

" Maybe you forgot to introduce yourself to the team. You forgot to introduce yourself when I first met you.", stated Kurenai. 

What Kurenai said was true, he did forget to introduced himself to her when they first met, but it was because he was too nervous to talk to her since he had a crush on her long ago. This time..., it is different. He didn't even stutter or hesitate or anything, so forgetting it, is definitely not the reason. "Uhhh... What did I forget?", he thought in frustration.

.... But little did he know, he did forget to introduce himself because he was too caught up with "how can he break it to them that he knows their secrets?", and he completely forgot about common courtesy.
