Kaitlyn's Revenge (Sequel to The Purge)

"Alright, well I better get home bye Kate!", Tally calls. "Bye, stay safe!", I answer. I shut the doors of the McDonald's I work at, ever since my parents were killed I've had to keep multiple jobs to stay in school.

I walk to my Volkswagen Beetle. It's all I can afford right now. I shut the door of the car and turn on the radio. I begin to drive. "Tonight is our annual purge! I hope everyone is excited!" I laugh, "Hell no."

"If you aren't participating tonight, we suggest finding a safe place to hide and stay safe. Have fun tonight purgers!" I whack the radio off. "Have fun, they make it sound like a party." I mutter. I look into the back seat of my car. I see my duffel bag and grimace. Should I do it tonight? It's been a year since all that happened last purge. Then the anger hits me, Shane, Hanna, Mom and Dad. My stomach feels sick. I know it won't bring them back but it'll make me feel better.

Every day I swear I see each one of them, I served a man that reminded me of my dad today. I almost lost it in the store. I breathe in, that's what the purge does right? It's a release of all anger.

I pull into my house. The same one from last year. The doors had been fixed and I have a new security system. I'm surprised I'm allowed to live on my own. I'm not getting into the foster care system. I refuse to have new parents.

I grab my duffel bag and lock my car. I walk into my house. I lock my door behind me. I've been paranoid since the last purge. I drop my duffel bag on the ground and all the weapons fall out. Rifles, revolvers, pistols, samurai swords, I collected everything over this year.

I look at the photo of my parents, "This is for you guys." I wipe a tear from my cheek. The Purge breaks people. It really does.
