Can't You See?

Chapter 3

We get to the infirmary and he places me down gently on a bed, as if I'm as fragile as glass.

"Stay here. Don't move." He says as he walks to the back room. He comes back with a few things and starts working on my ankle.

"When and how did this happen, Neeks?" He asks while unrolling the bandage.
"Yesterday, capture the flag, chased by an Ares kid, tripped on tree roots."
"Awe you poor thing."
"I didn't want to play, but Annabeth made me." I crossed my arms over my chest and looked away as a few people walk in.

As Will gets up to go talk to them, I feel sadness and happiness. Sadness because I don't want him to leave, happiness because I'm alone again. I peer over at Will and notice he's standing really close to the girl he's talking to and I can't help but feel jealous. If you haven't already guessed, yeah, I'm gay, and I have a crush on him, but there's no chance I'm ever telling anyone. Especially him.

He walks back over to me and opens his mouth to talk but I cut him off, again.
"Will, can I please just be put on bed rest for three days and have check ins or something? I don't really want to be here..."
"I'm not really supposed to do this, but I'll let it go just this one time. I'll help you back to your cabin soon, okay?" He puts his hand over mine which causes me to blush while nodding.
He stood up and walked to the back room, and came back a few minutes later with my sweater. We were half way to my cabin when I got an idea.

"Will, can we just shadow travel? It'll be faste-"
"No, Nico. No shadow traveling, it drains you too much." He says.
"Fine."
We're just in front of my door when Jason runs up.
"Hey, Will, can I talk to ya for a minute?" He asks.
"Oh, okay, um, yeah sure. Nico, do you want me to help you inside or can you do it on your own?"
"I'll go alone so you can talk to Jason."
"Are you sure?" He looks at me with his bright, beautiful eyes.
"Yeah," I say quietly.

I hop inside and sit on my bed, and I can hear Will and Jason talking through my open window. I walk over and see Will leaning really close to Jason while they're talking. He's been doing that a lot lately.

After my three days of bed rest, the seven invited me to dinner.
