Everyday was a repeat of the other. They woke up all the horses and gave them their morning sludge consisting of mushed grains and dry hay. Then it was off to "work"/

Since Poppie was a girl, the jobs she was given were considered less demanding. Not that they seemed less demanding. She would wake up everyday to pull around carts of supplies and people, then got back to the stables and slept. And this would happen everyday. Until one certain day. This day didn't look to promising to start off with, heavy, grey-black clouds starting to form above the horse camp. Poppie didn't like working in the rain, her thick winter coat seeming to drag her down. The rain always made things go slowly, and this day was no different. Until one certain live-saving moment.

When it happened Poppe was carting some men to their Head Quarters, just near the edge of the Great Jorvik Mountain Range. The trip there was slow and boring, imprinted in her mind from the hundreds of times she'd made the trip. She was idly trotting along the dirt pathway when suddenly a woman rolled out of the bushes. The men in the cart half-heartedly stifled their surprised yells and jumped (well, more like fell) out of the vehicle, crouching down and drawing their weapons.

Yeah, like that's gonna help the situation. Poppie thought, Provoke the dangerous looking woman. Sounds about right.

Apparently the men thought differently, and kept moving towards the woman, slowly, carelfully and quietly. The sinister silence was not broken until Poppie noticed something strange near the woman.

A purpley mist flowed around the woman, sparkling and glowing brightly, a brilliant light compared to the dark and dingy clouds hanging low in the sky. Poppie instantly recognised the mist to be the magic of Aideen, a magic that could be trusted. She started neighing and grunting loudly, stamping her feet on the dark, hard dirt. Her actions seemed to annoy and anger the men from GED, as they hissed at her to be quiet. But she didn't, Poppie persisted.

They seemed to have lost all patience with her, and the leader decided to personally see to her. He beckoned at his other men to keep moving towards the woman, as he started to run towards Poppie.

"I dunno what you're trying to do here horse, so just shut your mouth. Ugh, stupid horse wouldn't understand." He chuckled lightly then gave Poppie a threatening glare.

She could see that in the distance the woman's magic had grown substantially, surrounding and nearly enveloping her with it's furious glow. The woman smiled at Poppie for a moment, and Poppie seemed to know what would come next. She stopped neighing and grunting and stamping her hooves and stood silently.

Instead of being grateful the men turned around in confusion and sneered at Poppie in annoyance. Then they realised that there was a slow humming drone sounding from behind  them. As they turned around they saw a blinding purple light explode and send a shockwave bursting towards them. The wave reached Poppie in an instant, the light surrounding her and knocking her out.

This was as far as she remembered.

Poppie used to live at a GED-DarkCore horse camp, a camp where they would torture horses for their own gain. That night the camp was closing down, and all the horses were to be killed.

She, and the rest of the horses, were rescued by the Keepers of Aideen on that fateful night.

And that night the island of Jorvik was retaken by the Keepers of Aideen.

They were free at last.
