Myra's flight had been pretty average, but at least it seemed quick. With luck on her side, she was able to fly through security, customs, and the exit. Once she got outside she had to take a few long moments to let the beauty of Jorvik sink in. It was a Saturday in Jorvik City, the blue skies contrasting with the lush, green nature all around. Native birds flew above and people bustled below, some would say it was a perfect example of nature and humans living in harmony. The tall buildings in the background seemed to blend in so perfectly and Myra thought she saw a glimpse of the ocean beyond.
And the Myra remembered what she was here for. She had to find a job. Myra stalked off in search of a bench to sit on and collect her thoughts. She found one, sat down and opened up the local job finder, JorJobs.
"Hmm, well, all of the interesting jobs are gone," she muttered to herself, "It's gonna be either stable hand, accountant or shopkeeper."
Myra was leaning towards a shopkeeper, it sounded easy enough, just give some advice, sell some clothes and then ta-da, job done. So Myra, as always, went to investigate. She found a nearby plaza called Governor's Fall and went in for a quick look.
"Hi!" said the shopkeeper enthusiastically, "How can I help you?"
"Yeah, hi. I'm Myra, and I'm actually just wondering what a job here would involve." she replied, placing her bag down on the shiny ground.
"Oh yes! So, you'll need to have an extensive knowledge of the contents of the shop, be punctual everyday and have a good attitude." The shopkeeper replied so quickly that Myra nearly didn't catch the sentence.
"Okay, what about pay?"
"Ah," the woman's expression fell slightly, "Not that great. If you're looking for good pay plus a nice job, maybe try something in the horse business."
Myra picked up her bag, "Huh, okay. Well, I guess I should look into it. Thanks for the advice."
The shopkeeper smiled and waved at Myra as she left the store, and quickly got back to her work.

Myra lay on her bouncy hotel bed wondering what she should do about her job crisis. Shopkeeping had sounded like a good alternative at first, but after hearing all of the effort that needed to be put in and all for hardly any pay she wasn't so sure anymore. And then there was that job at the stables. She wasn't too keen to work with horses, not because she was afraid of them, but that she didn't really like them or find anything interesting about them. The thing was that she really didn't have a choice. It was either an underpaid, hardworking shopkeeper or an overpaid, privileged stablehand.
Myra sighed and decided that she should just look up a bit of information about being a stablehand since she was awake anyways. She quickly accessed the employers site and scrolled through the text. It seemed that Myra would be training and caring for the horses at Mistfall Stables. Apparently she would also personally be caring for a particular horse too. Huh, okay. Let's see the job requirements. Myra scrolled down and read that she would need to have riding experience. Okay, that is not surprise. Well at least Myra could kind of ride, so she didn't need to worry about. She had been riding on and off in her lifetime and was pretty confident in her skill.
Myra finally closed her laptop and made a mental note to book in a job interview in the morning. She sank into the itchy, hotel covers, closed her eyes and let sleep take her away into a mystical land of Canterella and her adventures.
