"Homo sum: humani nihil a me alienum puto"

"Don't look so surprised," Queen said and I narrowed my eyes.

"Conference?" I asked stepping closer.

"Yes," she smiled. "I have some rights here." She smiled again and tapped chair next to hers.

"Come, come. We need to see what dresses we will wear."

I sat on the massive wooden chair, and the second later I felt Queen's perfume. She always smells so nice.

I looked down at my hands.

I needed to thank her for visiting me in the hospital. She and Marissa are the only one who visited me there. Prince doesn't count. He almost lived in my room.

"Queen?" I asked quietly still looking at hands. She stopped and looked at me. I could feel her look on my head.

"What is happening?" She asked suddenly worried.

"I want to thank you for visiting me in the hospital.." I touched my hair. Why is this so weird?

"I mean. You and Marissa are one who visited me, and.." I stopped, "who convinced me not to give up." I said quietly again looking at my hands.

I felt her warm hand on my shoulder and I looked up.

Her dark eyes looked so worried but at the same time, she looked happy. Like she really liked that.

"There is nothing you have to thank me. You would do the same thing. I'm just acting like a friend." She squeezed my shoulder, and I smiled.

"I would," I said.

"Okay. Now that is done. Dresses?" She asked, and I nodded.

Rest can wait.

Maids entered the room. They carried all different colours. Light rose, black, red, blue, grey, gold, everything. Different materials. Lace, velvet, silk, cotton. Everything the best and everything so nice that I couldn't decide what to look first.

"Thank you, ladies." They put all material on the long table in front of us, before disappearing through the same door they came.

"Okay so let's look." She rose up and touched materials.

I, on the other hand, didn't know how to act. I stood up, too, but I looked at them. I would touch some but I was lost in my mind.

We never had these materials. What is this? I asked myself touching something so soft that I couldn't believe. We would have cloth and that is it. We didn't have this one. I think from this one dress my family could eat half a year easily. And the better the food. In here that was one dress, for one event.

I was sick. I wanted to get out of here. I wanted to cry. Somehow I swallowed tears and looked at her.

Queen looked distracted with some material. I asked how I looked. Probably like a lost puppy. I never enjoyed this fancy thing.
