my head falls into my hands
and I stumble
as hazy lilac dreams circle me,
serenading.
filling my head with cloudy visions
of starlit nights.

I close my eyes and breathe in their vapors,
slowly letting them lift me
off of the ground, into the mist.

my eyes swim with shades
of blue and soft lavender
as I look, hopeful, towards the sky.

falling, transcending, floating,
the clouds carry me further, further away
as pastel smoke swirls around me.

flickering light bounces off every wall,
reflecting the moon's glow,
and elation and tranquility
fade hauntingly through the mist.

falling deeper, floating further,
I silently bathe in the light,
watching myself glimmer and beam, fixated.

until smoke fills my lungs,
and I cannot return to the dark.
