Carlos feels depressed lately as he remembers the abuses that his mother Cruella De Vil gave him during his childhood and due to his depression; he has been cutting himself lately and to make this matter worse, he has been bullied by Audrey and some of her friends and all because he likes Jane who now has her short hair and since Audrey is mean and vain; she has been saying that Carlos is dating the most insignificant girl of all Auradon.

Because of the cruelty that he has been facing, Carlos tries to commit suicide, but however Betania who was walking by the boys's room, sees Carlos about to cut his veins. She storms into his room and uses her magic to take the knife away from him. Carlos cries, much to the concern of the Goddess of Trickery who asks him what's going on. Carlos shares the whole story with her.
Full of rage and all because Carlos is Jay's best friend and he's her nephew, Betania leaves Carlos's dorm; not before leaving him under the care of Jay and Ben, her nephews. Betania angrily goes to Audrey and Jane's dorm.

Audrey screams and Betania asks her how does she feel now that she doesn't have beauty. Audrey doesn't reply. So, Betania gives her the answer as she tells her that's how Jane felt when she was picking on her along with the rest of the girls. Also, she tells her that beauty doesn't come not just from the outside; it also comes from the inside.
Betania also makes Audrey see that Jane is beautiful from the outside and from the inside. Jane's beautiful from the inside cause she doesn't bring harm to anyone verbally; while Audrey does; she may be beautiful from the outside, but from the inside she's rotten and vain. Betania also warns her that she won't return her hair back to normal until she learns what true interior beauty means.
