Sans POV~

I sat on the couch as Frisk sniffled next to me. I start thinking up ways to get her to calm down.

Uh, maybe I should tell her a joke, or we could walk around in waterfall, or..um...Oh! I could take her to Grillby's-that would cheer her up, so I could finally talk to her.

I look over at her, my permanent smile almost hurting as i try to not sound as pissed as I feel.

"Hey, kiddo? How 'bout we go get some Grillby's, huh? Then you can explain yourself after you've calmed down. Sound good?"

She smiles slightly at me, and wipes the rest of her tears from her face before giving a thumbs up, saying she's ready to go.

We walked outside to see Pap walking towards the house.

"Hey, bro" I greeted casually.

He looked at me with slight annoyance before noticing the kid. An adorably priceless expression makes its way onto his face.

"SANS! IS THAT A HUMAN?!"

"Yep"

He gasped as he scooped them up with ease and stared at them.

"I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS, HAVE CAPTURED A HUMAN! YOU ARE THAT HUMAN! YOU PROBABLY ALREADY KNOW THAT, BUT I WAS JUST MAKING SURE YOU KNEW THAT THERE WAS NO ESCAPE! NYEH HEH HEH!!" He told them.

"Hey, Pap, I was gonna take her to Grillby's. We'll catch up with ya later for dinner." I walked a ways before turning around to see Pap still holding Frisk. "Um..that means she has to come with me, bro."

He set the kiddo down, looking rather dissapoited, and went inside, likely to make some new recipe of spaghetti.

Me and the kid walked into Grillby's and I was greeted by the usual customers. I sit down on my usual stool, and the kid sat next to me.

"So. The burger or fries today?" I asked them and they looked up at me and smiled.

"Just fries. I ate a bit with Goat Mom." I just smiled and looked up at the fire elemental who had taken his place in front of me and the kiddo.

"Two orders of fries, please, Grillbz." He nodded as he vanished into the back to prepare the food.

I took a shaky breath and let it out before looking over at the human beside me. She was a lot happier than before, so I decided to ask about the last timeline.

"So..kid...about the last timeline.." I started, slowly. "Why did you do that? Kill him, I mean?" The kid looked surprised I was asking this question of all others I had.

"I..I was curious. I wanted to know what would happen..if...Chara got their way..even if for just a little bit.." I stared at her, letting this sink in.

"So...it was Chara's fault?"

"No! Not at all! It was my fault, not hers! She just wanted it to be like that. Up until last timeline, I would refuse to kill. But then she said that if I didn't,she would do it herself, and force me to watch as she killed everyone I held dearly. So I agreed to kill a monster..i regretted it then, and I regret it now, but I've come to realise that I can't just erase my mistakes like on a piece of paper. So I reset from guilt after I killed you..i'm so, so sorry.."

She started to tear up, attracting some attention from around the bar. I overheard someone saying I was making a poor little kid cry for no reason.

What a load of bull shit.. I thought.

I grumbled under my breath and I grabbed a napkin, using it to wipe the tears from her face. The judgy mumbles from around the bar turned back to the regular chatter I've come to love so much.

(A/N- I'm tired. I'm gonna make another chapter instead of continuing this one. It's 10:30 at night and I have school tomorrow,so I'm off to bed. See ya fellow trash heaps next time! /(°^°/})
