"DAMMIT!" you said angrily throwing your phone against the tree opposite to the one you were sitting under. You sat there alone in the park with only your bag as company. Tears stung your eyes and threatened to travel down. Your dad had just called you and gave you the news that your mom and him would be divorcing. You honestly didn't mind that too much; they had been fighting with each other for as long as you can remember but what really hurt you was the fact that your father was leaving.

You looked up to your dad so much and now, he was leaving you. According to him, he had to step away from "all of this" and start over. Your father, who you had always looked to for guidance and advise. Your father, who seemed so strong and knew the answer to everything. Your father, who more than anything, you loved. You felt hurt, betrayed and overall... like crap.

"Oi, ____! What did you-a do idiota?" Romano asked bending down to examine your smashed up phone. Romano and you had become friends one day you accidentally ran into him, literally; you were staring straight ahead and he was carrying a basket full of tomatoes when you crashed into each other . After buying him new ones, much to his protests, you offered to help him bring them home and discovered you only live a couple of houses down from each other.

"Nothing." you answered simply, quickly brushing off your eyes. Romano picked up the phone and sat down next to you. "You look like-a crap." he stated simply. You just turned your head the opposite way and stared at the leaves falling off the trees. "Stupid ragazza, listen to me. Jeez, why are-a you so depressing today? Then again I-a think it might be an improvement to your annoying happy voice." he stated leaning back on the tree.

You clenched your fists, usually you are perfectly able to deal with his insults and sarcasm; just not today. You let out a ragged breath. "So are you-a going to be quiet the whole day?" he asked poking your forehead. You slapped his hand away and went back to looking out at the leaves. "At least I get to have peace and-a quiet for a change." Romano shrugged plucking a blade of grass and twirling it in his fingers.

Your mind traveled back to the family problems at home. You wondered why your dad would choose to leave your mother and you like this. Instead of coming to tell you himself, your father chose to say goodbye forever over the phone, in a less than 20 second call. You dug your nails into the skin of your crossed arms out of pure rage and sadness. "Why the crapolla are you-a doing that?" Romano noticed slapping your hands away from your arms.

"You're troubled you know? Why are you such an idiot at times?" he sighed. That's it! you thought angrily, you were done dealing with his crap and that's exactly what you told him: "Yeah, I'm troubled all right and you know what? I'm not going to put up with your crap anymore Lovino! Has it ever occurred to you that I have fucking feelings too?!" you yelled. "Of course not, you only care about complaining and insulting people! How the hell can you treat your best friend that way!" you yelled, a stray tear running down your cheek.

This made you even angrier because you didn't want anyone to see you cry. You whirled around scooped up your bag and left a wide eyed Italian behind you sitting in shock. You stomped all the way back home. You said a quick hello to your mom and tried your best not to look at your dad's empty office on your way to your room. You threw yourself on your bed and hugged your pillow, "Stupid Lovi!" you cried, burying your face into your pillow. You felt your tears being soaked up by your pillow as you quietly cried into it. As if your day wasn't bad enough, your best friend had to come and piss you off too. You stayed like that for the rest of the night.

The next day, you woke up to your mother yelling at your dad through the phone. You sighed and walked out of the house. You figured going to your usual place in the park was the best place to be alone. You didn't think Romano would ever come back after you yelled at him like that, truthfully, you felt bad for yelling at him. You let out a sad sigh and slowly walked, head down, to the park.

"Ciao, idiota." A deep Italian voice called to you. Your eyes widened "Lovi?" you asked looking up. Sure enough, he was leaning against the tree you'd always hang out under. He stood up straight and tossed you something. You caught it and looked at it: a tomato. "Why didn't you-a tell me?" Lovino asked, now standing in front of you. You blushed at his closeness and stuttered "W-what?"

"About-a your parents." he stated "You left your phone." he explained. You looked down again, not sure how to answer that. "I-a thought you said we were friends, ragazza." he said using a finger to gently pull your chin up to meet his gaze. You looked into his calm, beautiful eyes. The truth was that your sunny personality didn't allow other people to get involved in personal issues and preferred not to worry them. But now, you had hurt your best friend's feelings. You let out a small whimper before pulling him into a tight hug. He stiffened at the sudden movement, "I'm sorry Lovi." you said burying your face into his chest.

He chuckled and folded his arms around you: "I should be the one apologizing idiota." He pulled up your face again and gently placed a kiss on your lips. He turned as red as the tomato he gave you. "Ti amo."he whispered. You felt his face get warm from blushing and then smiled. You grabbed his collar and pulled him into a passionate kiss. "Ti amo." He laughed, you love the sound of his laugh and you pulled him closer. "You don't need that bastard, you have-a me." he reassured. Lets just say your sunny personality returned that day. I mean, who needs a good for nothing dad when you have a handsome Italian there to love ya right?
