Knock couldn't get comfortable. The room was too bright, the covers were twisted out of position and he felt oddly cold. His hand groped to the side of bed expecting to find naked flesh. Instead, he found emptiness.

He forced opened his eyes. He was alone. Pushing himself up, he glanced about the room. Still alone. He rolled himself out of bed, his bare feet hitting the cold tile floor. He shuffled to the bathroom and stopped. Korn's shoes were gone. Taped to his door was a simple piece of paper.

Went to breakfast with Yihwa and Pop. Didn't want to wake you since you weren't feeling well yesterday. We'll catch up later. - Korn.

Knock snatched the paper off the door and crumpled it into a little ball.

"You could have at least asked me so I could say no." Knock said to the empty room.

He dragged himself into the bathroom to prepare for his day. It didn't take him long. He hurried through his morning routine, leaving a mess behind in the bathroom. All to get ready for, nothing. He sat down on his bed. He realized he had no plans to get ready for, no place to be. Without Korn and no school, he was at a loss for what to do with himself.

After a moment of self-pity, Knock gathered up a change of clothes into his gym bag and headed out to the school's basketball court. There had to be some action there. It didn't take him long to find a group of strangers to play with. In what seemed like no time at all he had wasted his morning away sweating out all his anxiety. The game quickly ended with the interruption of one beautiful young woman.

"Knock."

"Dude." Someone elbowed Knock in his side.

"Knock."

"Dude, I think your girlfriend's calling for you."

"Ai Knock." Every head on the basketball court turned to look at the voice yelling. All except for one. Knock stood frozen in place, his back to the person yelling for him.

"Wow, she's hot."

"I'd like to take that on a date."

"Want my number sweetie?"

"Forget this Knock idiot and go out with me."

Knock's hands clenched into tight fists. He spun around and stalked over to Yihwa waiting by the fence.

"Yihwa, what are you doing here?" Knock hissed at her.

"Looking for your dirty self."

"Why?"

"Because we've been calling you all morning. And you weren't answering."

"I've been busy."

"So I can see. Friends of yours?"

Knock turned to look at the group of guys, all of them still leering at Yihwa.

"Not a one, let's go."

Knock grabbed his bag off the nearby bench and walked around the gate surrounding the court.

"Ah man, don't go yet."

"Yeah stay longer, let your girl cheer us on."

"Men are pigs." Knock grumbled.

Yihwa smiled at him as she took his arm.

"Really? Speaking from experience or knowledge."

"Both." Knock grumbled.

"Um, Knock?" Yihwa slipped her arm out of his hold.
