Chapter 1 : The Crush

Jestro's POV:
There will be 5 days until the King's birthday arrives. I am preparing for the special performance at the ceremony. The Knights are preparing theirs as well, except for Macy. She is going to do some princessy things her father wants her to do. She won't be wearing her knight's armor, but she will wear a princess gown. She had told me before that her father bought her a new gown. But unfortunately for her, it is pink.

Yes,PINK. Macy didn't like it one bit.
But I giggled a little, and comforted her.

"Hey don't worry,princess... I mean, Macy. I'm sure it won't be that bad."

"I just hate the color pink,"she replied."Pink is not my cup of tea. You know what, Jestro?"

"What is it, Macy?" I asked.

"I, sorta like envy you a bit,"she said. "You don't have to wear a pink outfit, since your new attire consists of only blue and yellow."

"Hey don't say that,Macy. My former attire consists of the color pink as well," I said.

"Yours has teal too," she said."Unlike mine, which is FULLY pink."

I sighed. I'm a little speechless.

"I heard Arnoldi is going to present a new, smashing statue of my mom to my dad again. Is it true?" Macy broke the silence.

"Yes," I replied. " I hope he doesn't take that too literally this time."

Macy giggled as I blushed.

I BLUSHED?!?

Yes, I blushed bright red, like a beetroot. What is happening to me?!? I've never blushed like this before. Unless, unless...

I have a crush on her?!?

Yeah, Macy and I have met since we both attended the Knights' Academy. And I have to admit it, she is extremely beautiful. It was love at first sight. I never dared to tell her, because I knew that it was impossible for us to be together. So I remained quiet until the feeling faded away. And now, I had a crush on her, again. And once again, I don't know how to admit it to her...

"Jestro? JESTRO!!!"

"Oh my!" I think I just spaced out for a few seconds.

"Your cheeks are bright red, is everything okay, Jestro?"she asked.

" Y-y-yeah, everything's fine, Macy," I replied. " Everything's fine. Nothing to worry about. "

Phew! It was a sigh of relief. Now I have to think of a way to confess to her. I told Macy that I'm going to practice for my performance. I practiced as I thought: What if she also had a crush on me? Nonononononono... Wait, Jestro, nothing like this would happen! Don't think about it too much.

Macy's POV:
His face was red, bright red! Like a beetroot! What if...

He had a crush on me?!?

Oh my, I don't believe it...

Wait a minute, Macy, don't think about it too much...

Yeah... I have to admit it. I have a crush on Jestro. He was just soooooooooo cute! I had had a crush on him since we first met at the Knights' Academy. But, I was too shy to admit it, mainly because I don't think we are able to get together. I am a princess and he is a jester and I am okay with that. But I don't think my parents would agree with it. The feeling remains today.

I just don't know how to express it. Maybe during dad's birthday celebration? Nononononono..... Many people will be attending the celebration. The Knights, the Tighty Knighties, Jorah Tightwad, Roberto Arnoldi... EVERYBODY. I can't just tell him like that. I'm the princess of the realm. Our conversation will be broadcasted! And I don't like it.

I have to think of another suitable time, and also suitable words to tell him, in order not to hurt his feelings.

I'm so nervous!
