Elsa's POV
I sat at my desk in my office, the light from the fire gleaming on the polished wood, going through letters from other kingdoms. I read each one before writing a suitable response. Nearing the end of the pile, I thought about stopping for the night, when the return address of the top letter caught my eye. The Southern Isles. I picked up the letter before turning it over. The blue wax sealing the envelope with an exquisite S.I. printing broke easily. I unfolded the paper and began to read the letter.
Queen Elsa,
My brothers and I wish to fix the untrustworthy reputation Prince Hans has given the royal family, and the kingdom itself. We would be honored by your presence here, so we could discuss trading between our kingdoms.
Sincerely,
King Maurice of The Southern Isles.
Go to the Southern Isles? Me? What if this is a trick? What if Hans wrote that to kidnap me? What if it's the only way to help the people of Arendelle? I have to go. The Southern Isles main trade products are cotton and food, things Arendelle has been running low on since I cut off trade with the Southern Isles. I grabbed some clean paper, my pen and ink, and began writing my response.
King Maurice,
I accept your invitation to visit your kingdom and discuss trading. I should arrive in three weeks after you receive this letter. To have enough time to discuss matters of trade, I will be staying in the Southern Isles anywhere from a week to two weeks.
Sincerely,
Queen Elsa of Arendelle.
I folded the paper and placed it in an envelope, addressed it, before sealing it with purple wax. I grabbed the rest of the letters that needed to be mailed out and headed to the mailbox.

"Elsa! Elsa! Wake up wake up wake up!" Along with Anna's yelling, the sun coming in through the window wakes me up. I slowly get off bed and change into a dark blue dress, with short, light blue sleeves and light blue accents. I quickly fix my hair into a braided bun, then leave my room and head down to breakfast.

Anna is already at the table eating when I enter the room. "It's about time you showed up," I hear her mumble. "What was that?" I ask her in a joking tone.
"Nothing. So how did you sleep?" Anna asks smiling like she got away with it.
"Fine. You?"
"Fine."
"So. I'll be leaving for some business in three weeks. And I'll be gone for anywhere from three to four weeks after that. I'll be leaving you in charge of Arendelle while I'm away."
"Oh. Alright. Where are you going?"
"The Southern Isles."
"What?! Isn't that where Hans is from? What if it's a trap?" And behind ranting about the same things I thought last night.
"Anna, I need to go. I will be discussing trade with the king. Arendelle needs more cotton and food, the two things the Southern Isles trades most because they have more than plenty. If I don't go, our citizens won't have any clothes or food. I can't let that happen."
"I know. Just be careful there alright."
"Alright."
