Elsa's POV
We arrived back in Arendelle just as the sun started to rise. No one was up yet, as Hans and I started walking to the castle. Hans was walking hesitantly behind me, going slower the closer we got to the castle. When we got to the gates which were still closed from the night, the guards standing by the gates nodded at me before signaling to the guards in the watchtowers to open the gates. Then they noticed Hans, who when they started running towards him already had his hands up surrender. "Stop. Prince Hans is here on my will. He will be staying in a guest bedroom in the castle," I said just as the guards were about to handcuff him.
"But Queen Elsa, he is a criminal, he almost..." a guard began before I cut him off.
"I am well aware of what he almost did. However, I decided to give him a second chance, and any questions you have will be answered later." The guard nodded before letting Hans go. Hans picked up his trunk and we walked into the castle.

"This is where you'll be staying while you're in Arendelle," I said showing Hans his room. The walls were a cream color, and the bedding, along with the other upholstery, were light blue. If you ever need me, my room is next door."
"Thank you," Hans said setting down his trunk before going over to the window seat and sitting down, seemingly starting out the window.
I walk down the hall a little until I reach Anna's room. I knock on the door and wait for her reply. "Who is it?" She says sleepily, while yawning.
"It's me Elsa. Can I come in?"
"Elsa you're back already! Yea sure come in." I walked into Anna's room and found Anna sitting up on her bed with messy hair.
"So how did it go?" she said while stretching.
"Good, the first shipment of food and cotton got in today."
"That's great. Is there anything else you want to tell me?"
I nod before saying, "While I was in the Southern Isles, I saw Prince Hans," I was abruptly cut off by Anna.
"You what! Did he hurt you? I swear if he did anything to you, I'm gonna sail over there and..."
"Anna stop! Will you let me finish." It wasn't phrased as a question but Anna nodded in response anyway. "When I saw Prince Hans, he begged me for a second chance. I have given him a second chance, and he will be staying in the castle until further notice."
"Why? He doesn't deserve a second chance, he deserved whatever punishment he was facing. He will never deserve a second chance. What made you give him one?" Anna yells.
"Because I know what it's like to get a second chance. Arendelle gave me a second chance to be Queen even after I froze the summer. You gave me a second chance after I shut you out for years. Getting a second chance is an honor that can't be described. So if you could just try to forgive Prince Hans, for his sake."
"I'll try. But even the slightest slip up from him, and he goes back to where he came from." I nod my head before I leave Anna's room.

I pass Hans' room, and notice he's still at the window seat. It looks like he feel asleep there. As I'm about to leave I notice he's mumbling something. I walk into his room to see if I can understand what he's saying. His words are barely comprehensive. Giving up on trying to understand him I leave his room, and head to my own.

I was quietly working, when I heard a loud yell cone from next door. Hans. I got up and dashed over to his room to make sure he was alright. When I got there I saw Hans hastily shoving his gloves on his hands while stomping out small fires surrounding him in a small semicircle. Fire?
Hans'POV
"Hansel's a monster, Hansel's a monster" the teasing voices of my brothers drifted through my subconscious mind. "Stopit. I'm not a monster. Stop." a younger version of myself pleaded, crying uncontrollably.
"Only monsters can create fire, and since you can create fire, you're a monster."
"Why don't we take care of this monster?"
"No. Please don't. I'm not a monster."
I wake up with a loud yell, accidentally unleashing fire from my hands. I quickly grab my gloves which I had removed earlier, and began stomping out the fires, while shoving my gloves on my hands. It was when an icy blast put out the last of the fires I noticed Elsa standing in the doorway. "Queen Elsa. I'm sorry I should have told you about my powers earlier, but I was scared. I'm sorry you had to find out this way, and if you want to send me back to the Southern Isles I completely understand," I said while bowing. I looked up and Elsa was just standing there, her hands in her hair nervously, as if she was still trying to comprehend what happened. When she finally spoke, her voice was hardly above a whisper.
"Fire powers?" Instead of speaking, I simply nodded. Elsa cleared her throat, and regained her regal posture, before continuing, "Follow me to the library, we will discuss everything further there." With that she turned and started walking. Not wanting to lose her among one of the turns in this castle, I got up and followed her.

When we reached the library Elsa closed the doors quickly before starting to speak, "I'm not going to send you back, but for now your powers need to be kept quiet," she started while walking over to a chair across from me and sitting down. "Now tell me everything that has to do with your powers." I took a deep breath, before starting.
"I found out about my powers when I was young. My mother once told me she knew when I was less than a year old, and that my father wanted to drown me, so that the family wouldn't have to deal with a cursed child. My mother wouldn't let him though. My mother and father kept my powers quiet until one day I got mad at my brothers while they were beating me up and shot fire at one of them. It didn't hit him, but my brothers still acted like I had. They called me a monster and beat me up. My mother decided I had to learn how to control it so she gave me gloves, which never helped much since I found them annoying, and left them off. My mother also had my learn a phrase for whenever I felt the fire building up, though I don't remember it now.
As I got older I realized that the gloves helped more than I thought they would. I began wearing them everywhere, except for when I sleep. My brothers constant abuse got worse when I started wearing the gloves. They called me just about every name imaginable. I was always doing research on fire powers but could never find anything so I gave up. And that's it. I have no clue what kind of damage my powers can cause or anything. That's why I'm so afraid of my power," I finish looking down at my feet. Elsa remained silent for a moment, before taking in a shaky breath and began talking.
"If you would like I could help you look for information."
"Really? You would?" I said, trying to suppress the hope that bubbled that I might find something. Elsa nodded before getting up and searching through the books. I did the same thing only on the opposite side of the library. Surprisingly, it wasn't long before Elsa spoke up, "Hans, come look at this."
